With pretty minimal effort, you could find a serious collector online whose collection puts mine to shame (if one doesn't post in this thread in the future). I am proud of what I have, though; I like to have a place where my friends and I can play LAN Double Dash/Halo:CE, Tecmo Super Bowl, or the NES Tetris, or any other classic. I will say the idea for the thread came from a conversation with a friend when he was over. He was giving me shit, like I get quite often, for what I have, and then I insisted that people on BG would have something about them that some people would think is nerdier.

I think Gulk's terabyte+ of hentai is more impressive anyway. '-'

@Epical I'm not sure of the total, but it's not more than $23,000 (Tyche's LS mate), for sure. I've got some pretty good deals throughout the gathering process, and I've got some of the newer stuff quite a bit cheaper than retail.

Roranora just reaffirmed my convictions of not selling old games. In no way does my hardware/software collection even begin to compare, but I like the idea of having a "game library" as a weird form of reference/just in case I'd actually want to play something again on a whim.

We need multiple choice on this poll... many of us here are renaisance nerds, we can not and will not be limited to only one area of nerd/geekdom

Personally I'll say I'm primarilly a Collector... Japanese Anime, Cartoons, Manga, American Comics, Videogame/Anime Figures/Colelctibles, random stuff that can be considered cool by most of my peers (the ones I actually listen to); and nerdly by the majority of "society" (you know, the ones that deep inside always wanted the classic Die Cast Voltron Lions but never got them for x-mas )... heck I just semi-reorganized my room post Comic-Con 2008 aquisitions XD

Being this the "digital age", I've had the opportunity to claim back some of the stuff I couldnt back when I was younger via digital format (MP3, AVI-DivX, etc) and some of the things that got lost due to time, overuse or annoying family members (I miss my old Soundwave transformer) are now more readily attainable (if a little more expensive) and is a nice walk through memory lane.

Thanks to my Telecomm Engineering studies I'm a bit of a Coder/Modder (tho I'm out of practice), and thanks to (mutually nerdy) friends a bit of a Tabletop/Card Gamer too... but I suscribe more to the Video Gamer camp more often than not (GH/RB/DDR/rpg's and of course FFXI).

I enjoy teh l33t sp33k and meme usage as much as movie quotes (like Mel Brooks films and other staples of nerd/geekdom), but I keep it down to a respectable level that wont garner me the hate of all my friends/acquaintances by quoting the same lines 500 times in a week.

Wasn't sure what to pick and went with MMOs. I guess I could have selected the collection option because it's probably my RPGs that are the nerdiest thing about me, I've still got a ton of old PS1 games. I'll probably sell them when I move to California to finance the move though, I don't play them anymore. Some of them, anyway... some of them I would fight to the death to keep.

They're both some kind of crazy knights and have various suits of armour and swords hanging about their houses.

However, I've always refused to attend such tomfoolery. Instead, I became an internet forum troll.

The fabric store owners I used to shop at were in the SCA. THe husband was always trying to get me to start taking fighting lessons. But like I said I was always too scare. <.<;

As nerdy as it is though, the group itself is pretty intense. A lot of work has gone into a lot of it. Sometimes I still miss it but I feel too out of the loop now.

Hmmm, thats tough to say what the most nerdy thing about me is. I build and race R/C cars (drifting) and me and some friends mess around with R/C helicopters a lot. That might not be the same kind of nerdyness (sp) as others but meh. Um... what else, I own a copy of every issue of Tips'n'Tricks and EGM ever printed. Oh, another things, I own over 400 hotwheels. Haha I guess that counts, I have the few ones that i've opened mounted on my walls in protective display cases. thats about all I can think of.

I have a Star Wars and Robotech novel dedicated to my cousins and me. I don't know if that really qualifies as nerdy or cool(in a nerdy way).

My video game playing as well as general social awkwardness are what make me a nerd. When I was younger there was some old fashioned dice and card games in there. Now I wouldn't really know people to do it with, nor would I want to go out and get all the materials to get started with it again.
