300 deaths is not a whole lot. People might die when they resist arrest, that's just what happens. It's not the police fault they weren't born with super suppressing telepathy or whatever magical means you think they should use.

this is of course, assuming that the policeman in question have the best interest of whomever they are dealing with at heart. No, that doesn't happen. Cops are just ordinary people given the extra privilege to use force. Saying "oh well, let them figure it out, I'm sure they will!" is pretty shitty attitude to have, considering what could come out of it.

Needless to say, I'm all for being on top of their asses for every little fuck up. Don't like the job? Quit. Choose a different vocation.
