What happened to free speech? Cops can't just go and shoot you for saying "kill cops", that is illegal. Were they in a dangerous situation and their lives were in danger? Maybe by other motor vehicles on the road but not by a kid with a broken back, probably paralyzed as well.
The type of cop that will shoot someone when they put their hand in their pocket to pull out a phone or card or somthing that isn't a weapon, before realizing that they are in no danger and the suspect is not pulling out a weapon, should not be cops at all.
