Joined a social on my first server, Fenrir and was with them until 75. Joined a sky linkshell for 8 months and then moved onto an Endgame shell called Kupo. I left them because of immature drama from several people in the LS.

I leveled my own char Kaylea from level 0. Shes in the same LS because shes my char.

Einherjar, Dynamis and Salvage mainly.

I like the skills of most of the players and everyone gets along well.

Its an unspoken list of senority and attendance. I think it should be more official, with an actual list for specific items on the LS forums instead of in our leader's head.

Level a new job, get merits, HQ my jobs.

I'd have to say Salvage and leveling new jobs are my favorite thing in the game. Salvage because its alot of fun to do low man events and see people get gear often. And leveling new jobs because..well theres so many jobs in this game I want to experience for myself.

11. What have you been doing after you reached the high level/max level on your character? What’s your goal in the game after max level? FFXI starts at 75, it doesnt end at 75. Events only high level people can do successfully, and broadening my experiences as a player, trying new things.

12. What is your favorite part of the game? Why is it your favorite? Social aspect, no question. WoW and similar games arent social enough for me to continue playing them.

8. What are some of the things your linkshell(s) do as a whole or in a group? CoP/ToAU Missions/ENM KSNM BCNM ISNM/ Random NMs/ Assaults.

9. What do you like and not like about the linkshell(s) you are currently in? The one i'm in the most is kind of empty, but really helpful oddly.

The ZNM linkshell is Your trigger, your items. and if it goes to free lot on an item, if you have the job you can lot, which I think is fair. The Dynamis Linkshell, you pick a priority job for relic, and keep that job for about a month, then you are able to switch.

11. What have you been doing after you reached the high level/max level on your character? What’s your goal in the game after max level? Well, with 3 jobs at 75, i'm looking to improve gear more, and get the hell out of poverty... ._.

EG - Friend begged me to put an app in to his ls, even though I told him I didn't have enough time and wouldn't make events often. Even though I don't have a lot of time, they accepted me and its been a great fit.
Social - The social ls I was in was disbanding and one of my good friends invited me to his social. The ls itself has been around for a very long time, but its members are starting to leave too.

EG - 1 other, shell disbanded and I didn't want in on the repearl (Name change was really gay and I wasn't in line to get anything anytime soon).
Social - I've been in probably 7, most of them I leave because the social breaks or the people I like leave.

Like - Cool people who are willing to accept my hectic schedule.
Dislike - People not understanding that I don't have certain clearances.

There's this weird tier system that I don't understand. If I'm supposed to lot something, someone tells me, I'm fine with that.

Merits, getting r/e gear. My in game goal is to have NIN, SAM, WHM, BRD, BLM, SMN and THF at 75, I have NIN, SAM and WHM. I'd also like to max merits on SAM (Want to max for other jobs of course, but sam is my favorite and I want it to be my best so I get asked to come SAM more instead of WHM).
12. What is your favorite part of the game? Why is it your favorite?
Right now, I'm really digging the flexibility of campaign. If I have 30 minutes I can find a campaign battle and get some xp. Before that, I *might* be able to get geared up, get outside and kill 10 colibri before I had to leave. I like campaign way better.

Well, since coming back to FFXI I am really enjoying leveling Corsair and Scholar, I enjoy crafting also. As to why, dunno I just really enjoy these new jobs and making l337 gilz. Definitely being on a new server helps also.

6. Yes. One, which was an endgame LS which I only put on during events. The shell broke after the two leads quit the game.

8. We do alot of meriting, lvling other jobs, limbus, salvage, questing, and camping. Also we hate on other linkshells and players. We did alot of RMT harrassment but since that damned RMT patch, not so much anymore.
9. There is nothing I would change about our linkshell.
10. We do not use a point system for any drops from any event. We take great care in giving out pearls and hope that by showing by example, drops are lotted as needed for individuals.
11. I enjoy testing out different gear sets for my jobs, adjusting for different situations. We tend to low man alot of events so efficiency is always priority.
12. My favorite part of this game is the interaction with my LS and other people I've gotten to know.

I've joined a lot of linkshells in the past, probably about 3 or 4 endgame linkshells, a couple dynamis shells, and some socials. I'd say probably 10 linkshells total, and usually my reason for leaving was the linkshell appearing to be "dead", or a formal linkshell disband

Yes. I play another character, and everyone is very aware that I am this character. I make no attempts to hide from others, or milk the system... Yes they are both in the same EGLS. I guess the reason I play another character is I enjoy being able to do things myself without aid of others (AF quests, NMs, etc). Dualboxing ftw

we are using a point based system, its a very fair and well explained system I'm sure all of our members agree that it works, and works well. However, I would be open to trying different systems

Once Ive reached max level, I then begin working on the job-specific merits, capping combat/magic skills, and trying to collect armor for the character to better complete it

My favorite parts of the game are my friends ( i love them all and probably would not still be playing if not for them) and attempting to solo/duo huge things. Big HNM fights are fun too

Yes - ForgottenDreams, MithraPride, Ninjaburger... probably 6 or 7.
The reason's different for each one, but 3 self-destructed (yay drama), one leader was an ass, one just wasn't my cup of tea. Mithra Pride gets special mention here as the only shell I've seen break and remake no fewer than 7 times, although I still consider myself a member.

My mule is in my LS, I occasionally dink around on her. Only 2 of my closer friends in-game knew that she was mine for ages - as leader, I like a little privacy every now and then.

Lowbie content - missions, WSNMS, &c. We occasionally whack HNMs (or try) with half the recommended people, and generally have enormous amounts of fun. Also, weekly Escort & Tac pearl runs.

9. What do you like and not like about the linkshell(s) you are currently in?
Social: What's not to love?
DLS: Why does everyone and his brother take Wednesday and Saturday? Seriously.

DLS: basic point system with a reward for early attendance and recruitment. It seems fair enough.
Social: "Hey, we killed it! Who needs a (insert item here)"

Meriting, screwing off, campaign, levelling my NPC, helping my shellmates do stuff, and quietly levelling my other jobs.
My goal? Screw off in Vana'Diel until SE turns off the servers.

Seeing new things, hanging out with my friends, soloing things I "can't" on Monk, the weird but hilarious conversations on the shell at 5 AM. Why? Who gives a shit why. It's fun.

10. My Sky shell runs on a points system. You can only lot for x item if you can wear it. Not having a lot of jobs might be a weakness to this system seeing as I have yet to spend most of my points...

12. The overall music and environment of the game is my favorite. I love the art style and little details SE has put in the game. My reasons for liking the two are b/c of my liking towards Mizuta & Amano (composer & artist).

I like it, it's a pretty tight-knit, high level group. We all have multiple 75s so it's easy to adapt.

I'm not in an end-game shell, and I'm also not interested in joining one.

I leveled up 6 75s, and merit slowly.

Going on adventures. I like it because you never know what to expect. You never know what NM you'll come across, or what mobs you can solo, duo, or trio, and you never know what treasures are hidden.

Most of my friends from a previous LS was in the shell.

About a week and a half XD

Ive been in about 4 other linkshells. 2 of them broke, the other 2 were to slow as far as events go.

7. Do you have other characters that you play with? If so, are they in the same linkshell? Why and why not?
Nope.

8. What are some of the things your linkshell(s) do as a whole or in a group?
ZNM, Sky, Sea, Einjarher, Limbus, Dynamis, ENM, Salvage

9. What do you like and not like about the linkshell(s) you are currently in?
Cant say I see anything I dont like about them.

10. Are there any rules or systems (i.e. point systems) that your linkshell(s) use? If so what are they? What are you opinions about them? Do you think it need improvements?
We use a point based system. Every item has a cap amount of points you can spend on the item and who ever has the most points overall gets to lot the item. I think its a good system. Works well from what ive seen.

11. What have you been doing after you reached the high level/max level on your character? What’s your goal in the game after max level?
Merit, Merit, Merit.

12. What is your favorite part of the game? Why is it your favorite?
I guess at the time it would be ZNM, they are fun things to do with some good gear to be had and you arent stuck waiting around 3 hours for something to pop you wont even get to fight.

-After a few bad experiences with some ppl a few friends formed up a LS that would, for the most part stay out of the HNM drama side of the game, and focus on Sky/Sea(which was new at the time)/Limbus/Dynamis and its grown from there.

-About 2.5 years, but if you count name changes closer to 3.5

Yes, but most were reformed to be the current one I am in today.

I have some Mules, all in same LS

8. What are some of the things your linkshell(s) do as a whole or in a group?
Pop Mobs, Dynamis, Limbus, KS99, ZNMs, Salvage, you name it we do most everything in LS.

9. What do you like and not like about the linkshell(s) you are currently in?
Due to the nature of 21-24 hour mobs, and our LS running on a very set schedule, we cant get everything for everyone. Its sad that its next to no chance that some ppl will have some items that would be very nice for them.

10. Are there any rules or systems (i.e. point systems) that your linkshell(s) use? If so what are they? What are you opinions about them? Do you think it need improvements?
-We use a wishlist system for most things, you make your list, and the order is determined by you, so you cant bitch if you dont get things when you want them.
-Limbus is a Leader's list for Homam/Nash (leaders adjust lists based on jobs/attendance)
-Dynamis is a points system.
-KS99/ZNMs are Orb/Pop item holder gets all drops.

11. What have you been doing after you reached the high level/max level on your character? What’s your goal in the game after max level?
Leveling more jobs, After that, focus on some jobs merits, after that finish crafting.

12. What is your favorite part of the game? Why is it your favorite?
Character building, and team work events. I enjoy Salvage a lot at the moment, each run stream lining it to get more and more done faster and easier. I think the ZNM system is good, but may take a little more time to become main stream.

real life friend and event organiser I work with was a Sack holder. Kinda got in through the back door.

Several. mostly social shells, left either becasue my main social was full with crap loads of RL friends who all started the same time as the EU release. the other shells were more mixed but teneded to be full of asshats or people in different time zones and thus were empty when I played.

Only a mule I escape to to farm crystals etc back when that was worth while.

8. What are some of the things your linkshell(s) do as a whole or in a group?
Its a HNMls. the same stuff everyone else does, kill anything bigger than us.

9. What do you like and not like about the linkshell(s) you are currently in?
Like: how strong we once were a while back. Could field a killing party/alliance at any time of the day anywhere and could do it fast. felt part of something big and proud to be in ls.
Dislike: we are not as solid as we used to be, there is a crap load more Draaaaaaaaaaaaama every now and again. The fact that its mostly NA so is in a different time zone to me, playtimes for me limit attendance at dynamis and events etc. But could always leave and join a more suiatble one, but i like current one.

You camp and attend/get tods, you get stuff (abjurations etc). you continue to do so you get cooler stuff (like a ridill etc). Continue after getting all your gear and eventually even your 4th and 5th jobs are pimped. Works well enough. There be lists that the sacks know, but you can always ask if you feel youve been putting in the time and you can find out how likely it is you can lot something should it turn up and your attendance is good.

After meriting the crap out of it level something else. rinse repeat. idle in whitegate and do small missions or assualts etc. minor things like soling subjobs and exploring all the stuff you always run past.

the scale of the place, walk (as in walk not run or tele or choco) and get an idea of the size of the world and the differences betwen the differnt areas etc in both terrain and weahher. Its cool.

I have an alternate character that is the melee to my mains mage. Same LS and basically an extension of me.

Sky Sea limbus HNMs the usual suspects.
