I don't think Blu will have auto refresh on the AF2. Summoner has Auto Refresh as a natural trait and doesn't have it on AF2, so I don't think Blu will either.

All Summoners should sub Scholar and melee in merit parties.

Sublimation is MP Chakra. Upgrade Claustrum.

Possible, but BLU MP spending habits and SMN MP spending habits are completely different. So while you can make juice from both apples and oranges...

William Wallace's BLU can do this.

If you mean a high speed modern 20k/hr + or gtfo merit party... no, a Blu ain't gonna keep up with a straight up melee DD, and while a useful refresh piece would help, it isn't going to make the difference.

My friend Serpical, he says to me "Hey, watch this... I'm gonna make this Sidhe... disappear!" CA Diss > Frip > gone.

No he can't keep that up for more than a couple of minutes before he has to rest or get refreshed.
Hey now! I kept up with 2 ridill wars (yes I was behind them) but we never lost chain in like 3 hours of meriting and one of the wars even died to a firespit in that time! And a Refresh piece won't help blu's catch up to DDs, in fact using it would pull you farther behind imo.

All I can do is hope AF2 will be good. Any specific traits it has is almost irrelevant if they're in just the right combination to raise it to the level of 'Wow, I need that.'

    Ahem, regarding dorp rates:

The improved drop rates they are claiming may simply be to reflect there are a possible 3 extra AF2's that can drop now. I am not a math guy butttt.....

Lets say in Dyn-Xarc, every mob has a 5% chance of dropping AF2, and you want the BLM Hat.

    .05 (drop precent) X 15 (number of possible AF2 drops/jobs) = .033~

The chance of any mob dropping your beloved hat is less than 1% (about .03%)

However... Add three new jobs (or possible drops)

    .05 (drop precent) X 18 (number of possible AF2 drops/jobs) = .027~

In other words, presuming the drop rate on AF is a set %, adding three new drops lessens the probability of one of the other 15 dropping.

The improved drop rates SE is talking about might be enough to compensate, so that the chance of old AF2 dropping is not affected by the new stuff

I have a lit degree, someone with math skillz tell me if I have done this wrong.

    kthxbai

Edit: I was guestimating with the about %. I don't actually know the drop rates in Dynamis, but I would gather its about 3-5% on northlands and slightly higher in cities. Contrary to common belief, I believe CoP drops rates are higher since my shell used to regulalry get as many dorps there as a northland, but in 1/3 the time.

Max, you has no idea what you speak of, sir. Any standard ~ experienced BLU can keep up with a 20k+ or gtfo merit PT, they just need to limit their DD options from "SPAM MAGICS AND REST OMG" to Sword DoT, Head Butt, Store TP for Chain Affinity Solo SC, and a spell or two on CA downtime.

Can just as easy throw on Vermy Cloak as well (or fulltime Morrigan Body) to make up for the MP/tick gap if there's no RDM or BRD present. And increasingly geared up BLU will have Mistilteinn/Seveneyes, Poison Taster's Cape, etc for more MP coverage during meripo (tho this is next to no one across multiple servers, but I have merited with a few people that have these items.) Once the MP is right, then it's back to DD gear, lol.

In theory you're right but nothing even approaching similarity to math dictates drop rates

your math is right but it's divide by number of jobs not multiply but it's the right answer.

But idk I read it as they are raising the drop rate of all Relic which may raise your specific Relic to the old .333% it would mean more Relic drops in general (from 5% to 6% in this case).

Don't fault the players for the nature of COR's buffs. You're essentially arguing in favor of inferior rolls for the sake of variety; we can already do that now, and we could still do it with permanent job bonus.

At least now there's occassionally going to be a situation where something might outdo Chaos/Hunter's in meripo and I may have a reason to switch things up, were the current limitations taken off of PR I would just see it being like BRD where you just sing the same 3 songs and let the rest rot.
With permanent job bonus, there are no less than 6 rolls that would see extensive use:

    Corsair's
    Chaos
    Fighter's
    Hunter's
    Evoker's
    Wizard's

And you could make an argument for Healer's and Warlock's.

Oh, I know they can keep up most DD's when they gear to hurt stuff with their swords and use MP wisely.

The problem comes in when you get top end DD's who decide to go batshit on things for 2 hours straight... there isn't a way to conserve MP, and go batshit at the same time.

I like Blu's, I love well placed head butts, my best friend in game is a Blu and we have a lot of fun beating stuff up together... I wouldn't grab him over a known War, Sam, Drk, Drg, Mnk, high end Thf, Nin, Rng... etc, etc... for the 3rd DD spot in a 2 Brd serious merit except to share the joys of riding 4 songs.

Oh my bad, I did divide, not multiply.

Caught the mistake and fixed it in the math but not the post.
