RE:AF+1 - yay, white boxed pirate stuff.^^

I'm not a huge fan of the Brown & Blue colours for Corsair AF2.

Brown - Ok, I can dig it.
Blue - A bit bright, but hey.
Both - Kinda meh. Honestly makes me think they ran out of good colours, and just blended the lasts ones on the palette.

I share the opinion that i'm sure 99.9% of all Corsairs hold; that we should have gotten the delicious black COR attire, but alas, 'twas not to be.

I hope the stats are reasonable however, to justify having to go for them in Dynamis.

Oh, I know they can keep up most DD's when they gear to hurt stuff with their swords and use MP wisely.

The problem comes in when you get top end DD's who decide to go batshit on things for 2 hours straight... there isn't a way to conserve MP, and go batshit at the same time.

I like Blu's, I love well placed head butts, my best friend in game is a Blu and we have a lot of fun beating stuff up together... I wouldn't grab him over a known War, Sam, Drk, Drg, Mnk, high end Thf, Nin, Rng... etc, etc... for the 3rd DD spot in a 2 Brd serious merit except to share the joys of riding 4 songs.

That includes the batshit crazy PTs. >.> I've done a few meripo PTs on BLU where I broke 100~250+ chain and still kept up. Is all up to you tho, I really don't see a big problem, when it comes to nicely geared BLUs in merit. XD

I guess it would be beneficial to your BRD(s) to only need to spam DD songs instead of DD songs and the occasional Pianissimo-Ballad for the wayward BLU.

I was recently in a meripo, and we kicked much ass. Never lost chain (bottom birds, lol I know).

SAM/WAR (Amano)
RNG/NIN (KC, wanted to go back and switch to /WAR)
COR/WHM

RDM/WHM

No parser, but I'm preety sure we were doing 20k+ an hour, and we had Hunter's/Samurai's rolls, w/ March/Min.

We tried out other roll combos, but SAM roll was instant win. We would often run out of mobs, and had to actually pace our killing in order not to lose chain. COR wasn't even DDing.

If this permanent job bonus speculation thing were to become a reality, I wouldn't dismiss SAM roll. The RNG would WS every 6-8 seconds (10 at most), and I'm not even exaggerating.

While I held my own, I'm pretty sure I parsed behind (>.>), but did enough in there where I could keep chain going, and throw off a random Magic Fruit when needed. RDM never ran out of MP (Morri robe/Duelist's), and I never dipped below 400 (900+ MP, Taru ftw).

BLU's ability to do well was never really the debate, it was the whole 'being better than top tier/being broken/+1 MP every 3 seconds making it broken' thing. Calling it the new DRG is pretty apt, since it can perform very well (especially on imps and colibri), but still lacks a little something when compared to MNK, SAM, & WAR.

Yup, you'll never hear "Omg, there's a Blu seeking, get him get him!" or "I got a rep otw, Blu with Relic body" 'Awesome!' they will be a good member, they can even do nice consistent damage, but the strength of the job isn't that sort of situation, and before you say it is completely broken, you should go watch a high end dual 2hed relic brd/brd/cor burn.

Ahh I see. Well, in that case, BLU will never have a hope to keep up or be better, unless there's some kinda epic change in gear that allows for constant refresh-sex with DD attributes ala Morrigan's Body.

And to that, I'm quite complacent for my own BLU at least (and some of my BLU peeps on Carby, like Kaslo up there and Aeonknight for example), it performs better than most in merits, and can keep up with crazy top tier doods.

With the introduction of single target songs last update, the excuse that a BLU holds back a party is damn well near laughable. Will BLU be the best DD? No. Will a BLU be a liability to a merit party? Hell no, so long as you know what the fuck your doing. Holding your own in a 20k+ party isnt as hard as some people are making it out to be.

Anyways, i guess thats no surprise when most people dont party with anything beyond BLUs resting during superchain parties, not setting magic fruit, using shitty swords or clubs and generally giving the job the horrible rep it has right now. Seems to be a club that BLU and THF seem to be leading as of late.

Versus Colibri you shouldn't be running out of MP with the high Drainkiss returns, sword DoT should always be a focus, ballad 2 + auto-fresh + sanction fresh keeps MP high along with aspirs, head butt is a nice tool when a DD decides to get faceraped by birds, self-sufficiency via magic fruit etc etc.

Like THF and PUP, BLUs only true limitation is the bad reputation it gets because it is a popular job that many people play for the lulz. The job is far from being overpowered and far from being 'gimp' - kinda funny when people bring up either argument.

I'd like to personally thank all the PUPs out there in Exp. PTs with evasion and enmity- builds if not in full AF... meleeing with Adargas. Also while saying Attuner/Target Marker/Coiler/etc. are "way overpriced" and are waiting for the price to come down under 10k.

Maybe Relic and AF+1 can bring my Iriz Ima solo time under 30min :[

When I updated BLM AF1 to AF1+1, I did the thing where you store your set on the NPC, talk to the guy in Lower Jeuno and erase the quest, at which point you can quest and open coffers for the ones you want to upgrade, keeping the 52~60 set on NPC. I'd like to be able to do that for BLU, if only so that I don't waste mog space on the pieces that won't ever be worth wearing and don't have good upgrades, but looking at the Lower Jeuno dialog files I don't see any of the post-Zilart jobs being available to "relive again". Does anyone know if there's another NPC maybe in Whitegate who will do it, or another mechanism altogether, or are we SOL if they don't change this on update day?

I don't think Blu will have auto refresh on the AF2. Summoner has Auto Refresh as a natural trait and doesn't have it on AF2, so I don't think Blu will either.
