But the real question is, why even spend 800k for a Forager's for 1str when you could use an Amemet+1 for less than half the cost? Not to mention whitebox! Zomg!? (Shh, I just don't wanna spend 800k for an extremely marginal upgrade D: )
Good, now I feel less gimp about not wanting to dish out money in order to have an increase of 1 str.
I actually got a forager's from an ENM once, and I sold it because I decided I'd rather have the gil. :D
I always just assumed ppl wore the nq for the same reason as people wear pixie earrings "HAY I KILLED IT". As for the people who actually buy this versus a foragers off AH, then I have no idea
anyway, I never had to make the choice, LS crafter (Sath, R.I.J.) 1/1'd my HQ for my MNK
1) Just because you said it, I'm going to change what I like to match what you like, Okay!
2) Nothing to say here, you actually couldn't argue something, shocker.
3) 3 more attack won't make or break anything. I think I'll be able to sleep tonight without having 3 more attack.
4) It is 700k for 3 more attack, I have my Cerberus already, it's staying no matter what. It would be paying 700k for 3 more attack, that wont mean shit anyway. I still have other stuff to buy that would give better results for less price.
Run along.
I'm not going to argue the other reasons, because they're semantics at best. But this is fucking retarded. I might be able to forgive it if it had a visible model, but even then I'd probably just tell you to .DAT swap it, but not wearing a piece of gear because of how it looks on your equipment screen is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.
Well, you said you were Nin and Pld, which are the only valuable arguments to have a Cerberus. Buying an amemet or a foragers for another job you barely play would be stupid.
It's not really about +3 atk imo.
There is nothing more annoying as noob samurais or monks using cerberus mantle + usuakane feet. It only shows they don't give a fuck about teamwork and don't respect people that actually work hard to make their tank jobs better for a team.
It's like spitting over people that merit enmity or work hard for tank gear.
( but since you said you were a Nin and Pld, I don't think you are concerned by this last part)
lol for a while i was rocking usu feet, cerb mantle and hades santi on my mnk. needless to say my co-tank was not pleased
Well if you are supposed to tank ( on mnk or on other jobs), I'd say go for it ( though maybe you want to keep some balance between tanks).
I'm more thinking of cases where people aren't supposed to tank but still use all this gear and makes party management ( for mages mostly) quite complicated.
It's probably not a problem in a large group because they can zerg and not count MPs, but becomes annoying when people are playing in small team with low support because in timed events every second matter to get the best out of the zone.
I am using usu feet & cerb mantle on sam.
I barely have problems regarding hate except in Einherjar (I also have enmity- lv2, which I'll probably remove once I get another mantle and start to lv nin again). I'm tanking in my Nyzul static so enmity is always a +. Regarding sea/sky gods or farms, I go /thf, and I solo TAws on tanks or sata. I could go /war of course, but I like to /thf sometimes, and it always helps tanks and healers. This mantle could be a problem to me if my LS camped kings because I would go /war for claiming and then the issue would be real, but we stopped 6 months ago.
Anyway, I'm still considering getting a forager or an amemet+1 to avoid the enm+3, but as I'm also planning to level nin, I keep the Cerb for now.
About giving the mantle to plds and nins, I agree with that. but I got mine after all the nins who wanted one, and all our main plds have valor cape, and as I'm planning to lvl nin ...
You aren't saying anything really that shocking, but there are times when we don't have a voke and a mage uses a curaga and pulls a gear or gears to the mages. Like I said I don't use it anymore and that much enmity isn't going to make a difference all that often, anyway, but the principle is sound for normal mobs in salvage when monks are main tanking the run.
Curious to know what sub you're going at merit pt ? /nin ? Because otherwise I dont see how you could pop hasso with 8 emnity more than I have. I'm already 75% of the time on seigan + TE mode and I still dont have a Byakko Haidate (fucking ls priority :/) I dont see how I could manage with 8 more enmity and 5 more haste.Easiest way to trigger overwhelm is to pull hate anyway, I'm lazy in merit parties and having +8 enmity in my tp gear keeps me from having to play the ring-around-the-rosey game
Caring about the amount of enmity you have as a melee DD is pretty stupid like 99% of the time.
Whether you like it or not, gear improvements are going to cause you to pull hate more often. And an increase of a few % haste, or a few % accuracy, or a few % damage/hit, will do way more to increase the amount of hate you're pulling than a minuscule amount of enmity.
But you don't see people taking off their Adaman Hauberks, Haub+1s, undoing combat merits, or anything else to ensure they're not getting too much hate. So why get so worried about every single point of enmity when your gear is really what is going to make you pull hate?
I can melee in +40 enmity, but I wouldn't generate half the hate I do in full DD gear. And even in full DD gear most jobs still have +9 to +14 enmity, and it doesn't make any kind of a noticeable difference between me and other DDs at all. The person doing the most damage will just about always have the most hate, small amounts of enmity don't change that.
I have both as well. Amemet +1 sold and Forager's purchased for DRK a while back, then when COR hit 61 I went 'Oops...'. At least my new Amemet +1 is self-signed?
I'm tempted to sell my Forager's now, but the price is so much less it breaks my heart. Not that that's stopped me before...

Guess I should have mentioned that then! For events I'm almost permanently on BLM, and very rarely PLD. I'm rarely playing NIN atm, but I play WAR even less; once a week at best. That's why I wouldn't pay 700k for 3 more attack on a job I barely use in the first place.
