no, I'd just be screaming if a cop walked into a restaurant and tackled the chef and tased him over 9000 times for still using trans fat in CA.

Edit: No clue if that site is partisan or not.
Either way, it is just another example of the elite media not liking a Leftist's own words being used against him in the court of public opinion.
Well obviously the writer of the article was lol

Obama clearly was joking. Self-deprecating humor is different from making fun of your opponent in a highly tense political arena.

    Eh, it's all honestly stupid.

I wonder what their point was. "Look, see, he said it himself, he just admited that he's a spoiled attention whore who represents the decay in America's moral values."

That was the point of the ad, yet in that quote, assuming it's not taken out of context, he admits, in 2005, that the media gives him too much attention, he even said he didn't deserve it, unless they were trying to point out how modest Obama is. I wonder what's the excuse for using Britney Spears though.

Can we just make Obama the president already, i can't bare to see what the pubbies are going to sink to next.

I was just pointing out that Obama compared himself to Paris first. I wasn't, nor the site, really comparing the contexts of either McCains or Obama's intent.

Wow, that was the point? Why are you conservatives so intent on making it easy to dislike you?

Ya, kinda dumb to bitch about being compared to someone when you compared yourself to them first. Sorry, no big right-wing conspiracy.

I understand why evilbau doesn't do politics here anymore.

By the way, when McCain compares Obama to the French, make sure to find a quote where Obama compares himself to the French, even though the context is completely different, and then say: "Haha, see? He did it first!"

If you want to analyze the context then Obama was comparing his celebrity to Paris Hilton's and so was McCain.

You know, i was sort of expecting this to be about him actually boasting about his popularity by comparing himself to Hilton, not only should i have expected a politician to not say such a stupid thing in public, i also should have expected this kind of thing from you.

the funny part is McCain pretends like he's not a household name either. The only difference is that he can't do a thing to make anyone give a shit about him, whereas Obama is politically exciting.

Obama made a humble statement in a humorous fashion after garnering more attention than he thought a first-term Senator should; McCain tried to link the vapidness of pop celebrities...known for public exposure, relationship woes, sex tapes, inheritances, partying too much... to Obama... a United States senator, former Illinois senator, professor of Constitutional law, and distinguished graduate of Harvard Law... implying that he is on equal footing as far as being ready to lead the country.

Saying "oh but look Obama compared himself to Hilton first" is demonstrating your lack of contextual understanding and still doesn't account for Spears (a Bush-loving republican).

I wonder when the Obama campaign is gonna come out with an ad connecting McCain with Abu Ghraib prisoners in regards to being qualified to lead the country.

oh wait, the Obama campaign has some basic shreds of intelligence and decency.

I do wonder how long Obama can keep this up, no doubt McCain is going to go all out and is probably going to get pretty nasty, Obama somehow has to avoid joining in on the mudsligging or risk loosing the image of "new politics" that he has made for himself, or become the next Kerry.

I feel guilty for loving this, feels like a reality TV show.

    needs more Wes Clark.

Fuck McCain for saying "I know what it takes to win wars"- no, you actually don't. Vietnam was failure and so far Iraq has been as well.

No, he should, it isn't a lie that a lot of people here really are infatuated with Obama, watching this argument would just be pure entertainment.
