OK SO I fixed the resolution it worked perfect for the first 10 seconds then a blue line shot right down the left quarter of the screen and will not go away. WTF DUDE.

Get a *known good* monitor. If the line shows up again, it's your system. If it doesn't, chances are you got a lemon monitor.

bad cable
refresh rate that isn't supported by the monitor, is being used, try 60hz at the native resolution
bad monitor

the monitor i'm using, there were problems with ones manufactured during a specific 3-month time period, where people were experiencing green lines across the middle of the screen which sounds similar to what's happening to you

Its fine on known good (as far as I can tell) the only refresh selectable was 75 which was odd. Anyway I took it back and asked for a refund and I'm still waiting the 5-7 fucking days for my moneys back ! FUCK!
