Somebody on Fairy is famous for lotting a 4 on an A.body with his shellmate, who lotted 25 or 30 or something small. Personally, I lost a novio 910 (i lotted fast/early so I had thought I won) to 930ish. Nothing else I can think of really
If only it wasn't all crap, this could have been awesome.

And then the other day, a bunch of people were spamming /random in einherjar waiting room and...

no, the odds of rolling the same number twice in a row is 1/1000, since the first number doesn't matter, only that the second number is equal to the first. now the odds of rolling say 111 twice in a row are 1/1,000,000 since there's a 1/1000 chance at rolling the first 111 and a 1/1000 chance at the second, but that's a completely different problem than rolling the same number twice in a row.
Right before a Limbus run, deciding who gets to join the Bard-DD party.

Needless to say I got shafted into the SMN healing PT ;;
And since we have been on the subject of same lots:

Last Dyna Sandy ~ Nothing really epic I guess but what are the chances of two identical lots in a row.
In EST, at least, we enter Dynamis at 10:30 PM, and by the time my RDM hat dropped in Xarc, it was after midnight, so I lotted an 824 on 8/24. Thinking I should have played the lotto now ... lol.
no. the odds don't change at all. (assuming you only roll twice)
if you want to roll a particular number twice in a row the odds are significantly different.
let's say any given 'die roll' will give us an integer in the set N (N being 0-999) with equal probability.
the first roll can be any number x, such that x is in N. because we defined all possible results of the 'die roll' to be in set N the probability that die roll 1 is x is 1.0 (it's guaranteed)
the probability that the second roll matches the first roll x (that is, the second roll is x and not !x) is the probability of rolling any particular single value in N, which is 1.0 / count(N) or .001
1.0 * .001 = .001 -> 1/1000
now, if you were trying to say, roll two 55's in a row, the probability is 1/1 000 000 (1 in a million).
Nah you missed it.. if you want to get the same lot, the universe will pick up on your mental waves and lower the chances of it actually happening.
we could probably figure out exactly if anyone wants a fun probability problem heh.
basic unit is likelihood that any given roll is identical to at least one adjacent roll; should be something like : .001 + .999 * .001 - .000001 = .001998 (approximately .002) (-.000001 is the negative of the likelihood that both adjacent numbers are identical and adjusts for the error in assuming that they are not)
sum those up right and you can get the odds of a doubled adjacent number in any given number of lots/rolls
I was reading this thinking "Haha, the same thing happened to my limbus group!"
Then I realized it was you posting. But yeah, I can confirm this happening. I don't recall Necra being that new though? Maybe I'm just mis-remembering.
Also, every time I lot for an Assault Armband, it's always >100. I don't have the SSes anymore due to an HD crash, though.

The last lot was by far the funniest of them all.
What the hell are the odds of this...
