I've been in an amazingly stable league since 1995, and we've had one female player since 1998. She started out as one member of the husband & wife team, and got her own team a year later.

Between 2002 and 2004, she finished 2nd, 1st and 3rd. One of those years, I forget which one, she went into labor the day of the draft. She and her husband drafted the first three rounds for their respective teams by phone from the hospital, and then she doctors told her to get off the phone because she was giving birth. We've played enough over the years we know both of their draft patterns well enough to draft for them.

We take a group vote of the players they would most likely vote. The eighth round, the phone rings, and it's the husband. "Delivery went smooth, Mom & Baby are fine, is Freddie Mitchell still available?" He drafted by phone for the both of them the rest of the draft, and she went on to finish in the top 3 in the league.

Never again will I question the potential Fantasy Football skill of the female gender.

While in labor, up until about 15 minutes before the actual birth. Her doctors encouraged it, as it helped her to keep calm, actually, and relax.

We might be doing an auction draft this year -- if that's the case I'll have the software available to do it and will share with whoever is running the other league -- it's still an idea in the works, pending manager decisions.
