BG East is full, I think Kurp hasn't signed up yet.

BG West should be near full? Azazael will be running that in place of DeeJay, so expect PMs/IMs from him.


Can we move forward with an auction draft idea? I have a software, very beneficial, that I can provide players with. It cost me $27, but it was worth it for my main leagues draft.


And as well, given the high rate of returning players (esp. in BG East), do you guys want to make these keeper leagues?

Reason I need answers from both sides is simple. Originally, the "BG East" league was the only one around, but given that a lot of people showed interest, the only way to expand was to create a seperate league and make divisions. What we were then forced to do was, to crown a "BG FFL Champion," have week 17 the game between the division winners, whoever won that game would take home the gold (and custom title perhaps?)

If it's too complicated, we -could- split, although I kinda liked having two leagues in the manner we did last year. The thing that binds us is that all rules have to be the same.


With regards to draft type - auction draft is so much more fun, the only thing that will hold me back from doing so is:
1) A lot of owners can't make the draft (it's imperative every owner makes the draft - there's no auto-picking in an auction draft)

2) BG West is all against the idea.

Auction would be fun, I could do that if we can find a time that everyone can be on. Keeper leagues are probably more trouble than they are worth online, from my experience. It's rare to have all of the same people returning, I don't think you're going to keep people around. If someone has a really bad team, it's going to be harder to replace. And who knows the shelf life of this league, really? I see keeper leagues working best in an established group of RL friends who can exert some social pressure to keep other owners involved.

I don't think this game ever came off last year. There was no activity in the FFL thread after Week 16, I don't even know who won BG East; nobody posted lineups from either team or compared total scores. Not being able to have this game done via Yahoo leagues makes it pretty much a requirement that both league champions post their teams.

im definitely down for an auction draft. my only concern is that it someone misses the draft...

im indifferent towards a keeper league, if we are using last years squads thats fine. and if we are drafting whole new squads and making them a keeper team in years forward that is also fine.

I think I'll agree with you that keepers would get hectic. As for last year - I thought we did have that week17 game? If not, we can just do it this year.

Out of 24 teams, 8 go to playoffs, 4 to semi finals, 2 to finals.

I would love an auction draft. The only thing is, players/managers need to be freaking competent. The worst thing to have is a douchebag who bigs 120$ on a player like Bobby Engram. Otherwise, it really makes the game funner.

I'm thinking we can have a skype window open (chat & talk) -or- aim+ventrilo.

Keeper leagues are fun. But it's hard as hell to get new people in once the original manager quits.

I bought into a keeper league this year. Team Costs $100. It's a 16 team league. Here's my lineup:

I'm fine with doing keeper leagues, unsure on auction draft.

If we want to do a large scale league, we could move to NFL.com. I think they support up to 28 teams in a league and you can split it up into divisions. Only problem is the talent pool gets kind of thin eventually.

Keeper league sounds fun to me, I do think it is risky online but looking at BG East I think we had 10 or 11 out of the 12 return the first year and 12/12 this year? I think as long as we exchanged emails it could work but it's hard to tell. I'm up for auction, I've never done one before but I know basically how they work and it looks fun. I'd rather stick to the 12 man teams in Yahoo than a big ESPN league because if we put all the teams in one league the talent pool would get very very thin.
