It was on the same level as the original Total Recall. It walked that line of trying to be so badass and cereal-business that it had a nice flare of cheese to it.

Unless of course you want to claim Total Recall was some masterpiece of film making. In other words, neither was amazing. In fact, they were pretty terrible. That's what made them so great.

Why do I even have to explain this?

I can go back and appreciate the original total recall for what it was. Not so much for dredd. I didn't know the original was something of a cult classic, I thought every one understood it was a piece of shit movie.

And what was that? Breathtaking cinematography with incredible plot depth and superior acting?

    Come on now.

    It had appeal though.

Maybe its just me, but I thought the original dredd was shit, on all accounts.

It is just you, lol. It appealed to you, Dredd didn't.

There's gobs of people on both sides of the fence for Total Recall as well.

Finally got around to watching Killer Elite. Good enough for a one time through if you're wanting a well done action flick with some decent acting.

Edit: as predictable as it gets though. Despite the high profile actors, don't go in expecting to be blown away.

This is what I thought about the original Total Recall. I get it some may like it for the cheese, but it's nothing short of a B/C movie on late night SyFy.

Safety Not Guaranteed was a pretty good quirky indie flick. The cute girl from parks and rec, one of the guys from the league and one from the new girl all being better than on their respective shows.

Similar, but darker indie flick called Another Earth was pretty good too.

The original Total Recall is a genuinely good movie. The hell are you people thinking? The original Judge Dredd though, not so much. That movie was crap and is generally seen that way.

I haven't seen the new Dredd yet so I'm hopeful from all the hype I've heard.

For those with HBOgo, Cowboys and Aliens is on instant streaming.

I wouldn't have watched it if not for seeing the Half in the Bag review first, but it is actually a solid movie. Not much depth obviously, but it is well acted by an excellent cast, and tells a decent Sci-fi story. Also you get to look at Olivia Wilde the whole time.

I think their biggest mistake was giving it such a dumb title.

Saw The Master by myself in Philadelphia last weekend. Incredible movie, shitty experience. Go see it, but make sure you go with somebody who wants to talk film afterwards. It was complex, challenging, and emotionally complicated. It's not a clean movie by any stretch, but that's a lot of the draw.

End of Watch is worth a watch, though nothing too extraordinary.

Just watched a mini-series called Going Postal, definitely suggest it as it was humorous, fantasy setting. Apparently it's an adaptation of a Terry Pratchett discworld novel.

oh yeah, and Tywin Lanister is in it.
