just watched Headhunters, pretty good movie. Jamie Lannister is in it

Going to jump the bandwagon, Django was an AWESOME movie. I had the Pianist in Queue on the flix after torrenting Django, I was going to give Django 15 minutes to impress me. The Pianist was never watched.
Dark Knight Returns 2.... my fucking jeebus. So many feelings. So many amazing fights.
The Last Watch. Was not what I was expecting, a lot better. My heart hasn't beat that fast during like a suspenseful scene in a long time, if ever.
Just watched Total Recall. Actually enjoyed it after hearing from people that it sucked. I haven't seen the original in so long that I've forgotten most if not all of it.
Spoiler: show
Rurouni Kenshin was done amazingly. I loved it and hope you all watch it soon.
oh hellllll yea, totally forgot it came out thanks
also while on the subject, i've been watching a shit ton of samurai films. just saw the first film entry to the lone wolf and cub series THAT WAS GREAT. jokichi of mikogami's films were badass too, although it's really sad to see how the 3rd film turned out
anyways, i realized theres a bunch of chanbara films but i never really hear about ninja films, and not the 1980's usa kind either. are there any good ones or was it just too hard to make a cool ninja movie in the 60's/70's
This is about all I can think of right off the top.
The new Goemon was pretty great, though... only if you can find it subbed. Dubs are HORRIBAD.
Dredd was great action from start to finish. Glad I took the time to watch it. Damn Olivia Thirlby is sexy too.
She's sexy cause she has an Anne hathaway thing going on in the movie. She's not that attractive irl
I'll admit she looks much more sexy in this movie then in other things. But after seeing her in this movie I immediately looked her up and she still looks sexy as hell.
^agreed. Still best in this movie though.
Go forth, young man. This is a gift from God: http://samuraicinema.tumblr.com
Also yes, definitely watch Goemon, it's incredible. And then go watch the live-action Casshern.
Saw it and thought it was kind of terrible. Wasn't that satisfied by even the action just because the scenes seemed to stop and ask "pretty cool huh?" here and there and just fucked with the entire thing. Not even Lena Headey could save Dredd.
Watched Taken 2 last night. It was enjoyable for what it was. At times, the fight scenes just seemed awkward. Right after Taken 2, watched The Raid: Redemption again and was pleased to watch superb fight scenes.
Taken 2 was okay, but I thought it ended abruptly. Like at the point in the movie where it ended I was expecting another 30 minutes.
Just watched God Bless America. Amazing and spot on.
I thought it was a little over the top and one-noted. Angry guy ranting over and over about trash reality show culture in long, drawn out monologues.
Thinking about it now, I don't think I've seen a good new movie in a while. Heard good things about Pitch Perfect though...
I suppose I looked at the movie fondly because I agreed with most of the things. I'd compare it loosely to being a newer generations Falling Down. Yes I know there are clear differences but in my opinion the base is the same for both. It was supposed to be over the top seeing as it's a dark comedy I'd wager. Also, not surprising it's over the top since it's directed by Bobcat Goldthwait.
I saw more to it than just the rants regarding trash reality. It spotlights how children have taken the role of boss in the house. They focus on how political junkies will push their agendas regardless how tasteless and idiotic they are. The movie theater scene had me grinning from ear to ear because that is exactly why I do not go to the movies anymore unless it's a matinee or not until the movie has been out for quite some time.
I don't think God Bless America would be for everyone, but it shows another side to how some people feel about current "American culture".
In a year with 3 blockbuster Halloween animated movies, I gotta say Hotel Transylvania wins. In fact, It's the best adult & kid CGI movie since Monsters Inc. Finally an animated film with crossover humor again.
