Took the kids to see the Croods yesterday. Didn't do the 3d so no idea, but the movie was very funny and it kept my four and eight year old glued to the screen.

Its been so long since I seen the original that I can't give a good comparison. From what I remember, wasn't Evil Dead 2 > 1?

Anyway, this new remake is awesome if you are just into cheap over-the-top gore like me. Its not really "scary", but the chick I went with was absolutely terrified lol.

Bruce Campbell and the stop-motion special effects made Evil Dead. Anyway, if it's too gory the girl ain't going to like it even if she liked the first one. What a first world pickle.

Edit: Ah yeah, saw The Last of the Mohicans, fucking awesome. Can't believe I saw it in jr. high (actually we earned them for being good students lol), those were simpler times, my friends.

Watched Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale. Fucking weird. I thought it was going to be a comedy. It wasn't. Finnish movie about reindeer farmers battling the evil Santa Claus. Entertaining. Just really not what I was expecting.

Friends saw it and said it was all sorts of fucked up format wise. Like in the beginning, the brachiosaurus's head was cut off and shit. Did you have any problems with any of that?

Saw From Up On Poppy Hill today, and while it isn't on par with Hayao's masterpieces it was much better than Earthsea from Goro. I really liked it. It was simple, sweet.
