I've been meaning to watch this movie for some time. Good to hear you like it!

The Last Tycoon. Really good crime drama although the movie seemed to drag on a bit. Chow Yun Fat, Sammo Hung, and Francis Ng do a superb job.

Tried watching Hard Boiled but it was too cheesy action for me.

It was in theaters, but glad you enjoyed it. Was on the fence about it, but I'll spend what little movie time I get nowadays on it.

Superman Unbound. I have loved every movie that has come out with the new bloody and gritty feel. Batman, Superman, Lantern. I hope they start making more and doing it far more often. Was a long lapse since Justice League and the last set of movies.

    power of few:

good popcorn flick i think. plot is filmsy, but comes out all right and still entertains. kudos to hobo walken even though some of it was fairly pointless.

Not really digging any of the suggestions here lately, not sure why. This is usually where I come to get my movie picks too

    Lately I watched...
The Impossible (slow, but pretty decent, I'm a big Ewan McGregor fan)
Kikonkreet (sp on this, anime movie, not bad I guess, slow/touching kind of anime, typical shit)
Silver Linings (decent, not a bad romantic kinda movie)
Jack Reacher (not what I expected at all. It is NOT an action movie, it's a mystery movie mostly with action on the side)
Iron Sky (zombie moon movie, had some hype on these boards a while back, was stupid as fuck)
Iron Man 3 (I liked it a lot while I was watching it, but afterwords I was like what...)
Bully (this could've been a lot better, a lot harder hitting. the whole thing seems censored in a way to me. the principal will make you rage)
Life of Pi (this one had me thinking a lot at the end. there's some stuff in here that can be analyzed further than your initial take away from the movie, it's also visually beautiful)
007 Skyfall (best james bond ever? no. but it isn't bad whatsoever)

I feel like I have similar tastes in movies that a lot of people on these boards have, but take it for what you will! Netflix is absolute shit lately, so I need some suggestions!

Just saw this earlier today and I liked it but I'm bias cause the X-Files is my fav TV show and also Dark Skies. It's still okay tho. Some creepy scenes with the aliens. Probably the only "horror" part imo. Only saw this film because of your comment. Also had not heard anything at all about the film. Better than The Fourth Kind, that's for sure! Fucking Milla Jonovich...

Anyone seen Great Gatsby? Going to take my mother to see it for Mother's Day. Don't like how they're advertising the film (TV ads) or the soundtrack but still going to give it a shot.

Tekkonkinkreet is a really fun and touching movie for sure. Not sure if I'd posted this before, but I finally got around to seeing Warrior. Sweet tits, how have I not seen this before? Such a good movie.

just finished watching assault on wallstreet.

disclaimer: its a uwe boll film.

it was a little slow to get started, but pretty good buildup.

i won't say that it was good, though i enjoyed it. i will say it was extremely satisfying to watch.

When The Last Sword is Drawn. Excellent film, that I had somehow never seen. Bonus that Joe Hisaishi did the music as well.

Obviously you have already seen it, but for anyone else...
Take it for what it's worth because I've heard some of my friends say the complete opposite, but I actually thought it was a really good movie.

Warm Bodies was a pretty watchable twist on a zombie movie turned romcom.

The new Die Hard was forgettable.

Going to the movies tonight with the girl. She wants to see Hangover 3, but I heard it sucked and it'll be packed. I wanna see Iron Man or Star Trek, but she either hasn't seen or doesn't remember the previous Star Trek or Iron Mans. Not sure she saw Avengers either, I've got some work to do... but anyway, not knowing the story hasn't stopped her from enjoying other action movies before, but of course she'd probably prefer non-action. As for Gatsby, I'm sure she hasn't read the book.

It's more of, what should I see tonight out of the 4 that she'll at least be somewhat entertained for even though shes a girl? lol

    Hangover
    Star Trek
    Gatsby
    Iron Man

Is seeing the first Star Trek really required? Everyone seems to love it, and I'm not sure Iron man is a good idea without 1/2/avengers, whatever part shes missing.

Nothing major story wise you need to know, only characters. They assume you already know the crew this time around so there's no explanation about who they are or what they're about... Not that they're overly complicated characters to begin with.
