6 Souls was brought up some pages back, seemed to be universally liked, I thought it was great. The Tall Man was pretty bad, I have sick thoughts for Jessica Biel so I went in hoping but shit was... dull, best way to say it. Of the rest, I've seen Mouth of Madness and The Ninth Gate years ago, eh they're watchable is all I've got.

Just saw Wanderlust again, I seent it in theaters but forgot how funny it was. His brother is such a fucking douche, it's fantastic. It's on HBOgo atm.

I just watched Pan's Labyrinth last night, and I didn't really like it at all... but I have something to ask. I realize it's a commentary on 1940s spain, but
    Spoiler: show
What was the reason for the girl to stab the captain... like why didn't she kill him? If she was going to run away... she could have just killed him and then made a plan to run away, I don't know. Personally, I can't think of a scenario in which killing him shouldn't be the first thing you do. So, is there a historical context I'm missing for this reason?

    I hated that the girl ate the food in the room. I don't care that she's a little girl and there is a famine going on, she got told like 3-4 times not to eat the shit in there, saw childrens shoes in the corner, a mural of the dude sitting at the table EATING children, and the whole monster was STILL sitting at the table would be deterrent enough for me <_<;

Is there some sort of context on that?

I guess it's an okay movie if you look at in the context of what was going on in spain during the era... but it as a movie by itself seemed to fall short imo. To each their own, I don't get how people jizz over this movie so much.

I remember liking it when I saw it but that was like 6 years ago.

Martyrs was ok, legit scary for the 1st half. Then the second half was just gross.

    Spoiler: show
pulling the pins out of the chick's helmet/head, the chick without skin... ugh. I can do without seeing that.

I saw Requiem for a Dream for the first time. It was pretty captivating. Movies usually don't get to me much anymore but I was depressed for a few hours after

This movie should be shown to middle school children. It's a nice view into the world of drugs.

First half of martyrs only time I was legit scared watching a movie. I plan on watching that(requiem) later tonight. The only movie that really has ever affected me before and made me pretty depressed maybe not immediately, but after it set in is Irreversible. Also Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind made me insanely sad halfway through, but that don't count.

So I went and saw R.I.P.D. , was watchable, but the important thing was what I got in the pre-show.

So yeah, just watched it. It was good and captivating and definitely interesting to watch a visual representation on addiction and not just in the illegal drug user sense as well.

Wasn't really shaken by it really, doubt much will anymore after some movies I've watched...

Yeah.... everyone should go see this movie. It's pretty good. Also that intro and dat zoom! So retro. I don't know who's in charge of sound but I liked it. Love heavy brass. Recommended. I know this is based on a true story but Hollywood likes to over exaggerate/dramatize stuff. Just look at the real doll compared to the creepy thing in the film

    Spoiler: show

There's a sequel to it, equally entertaining if you liked the first at all (I loved them!)

I'm dumb, it was on Netflix as well ;/

Yeah, Grave Encounters is a good one, they packed a lot into it. So many of the kinda low budget ghost movies lose me at questionable effects but that one could stand it's ground.

The Conjuring was really cool! Don't wanna haul off and say too much but the recommendations are deserved.
    Spoiler: show
At the end when they showed the "real" pictures I thought the doll looked really similar to the one in the movie but that was probably just the editing of the "old newspaper" look. I was meaning to do the Google on it because that thing was too fkn creepy, couldn't imagine anyone choosing to keep that around, lol.

Just finished Grave Encounters 2, and holy shit it's better than the first. My only real gripe is
    Spoiler: show
when they actually get in the truck and drive away it doesn't really make sense because it shows them getting out of the building. I know that it was just a plot twist and was the "building tricking them" or whatever just thought it was...I don't know lol
Besides that the movie was amazing.

I think the whole part is them like, hallucinating rather than them actually physically walking anywhere. When I saw the house maid just standing there in the hall when they entered the elevator I was like oh shit they're not even out of the building... Definitely an awesome part in the movie. Glad someone else appreciates the film though, I loved it.
