actually rewatched most of the jk simmons scenes today before I went to class so I could horrify my students. didn't throw a chair at anyone though.

Watched Whiplash, was good as expected. JK Simmons has been nailing asshole characters since Oz. The kid in the movie was decent too, but I don't see him as Reed Richards in the new Fantastic Four though.

Schillinger was fucking cold-blooded. OZ was awesome. I still call the insurance mayhem guy Ryan O'Reily.

Really want to see Whiplash but will probably have to wait for streaming. Haven't been out to the movies much since the rugrat arrived.

Last movie I watched was The Way Way Back, definitely worth a viewing. Allison Janney steals every scene she's in, and Jim Rash does Jim Rash-like things (also co-wrote and co-directed). Pretty standard coming-of-age story otherwise but it has some heart.
