oh yea seconding the accountant. Way more action than I expecting so that was fun.
Who knew autistic Ben Affleck could be so entertaining?
Just finished the accountant. Fucking loved it. Ben is a natural autist.
Well... yeah.
you mean autiste
Kinda late on watching this, but Turbo Kid was fantastic. Mad Max-ish movie with very obvious low budget, but was still probably one of the better movies I've seen in a while.
I was pleasantly surprised by Headhunters (2011), a Norwegian action/heist film available on Netflix. It's a solid pick for when you're in that subtitle mood.
Not sure I'd call it a good movie but just finished watching Found Footage 3D and was certainly rather entertaining and very inceptiony. Like horror film about people making a horror film meanwhile while they aren't filming their movie they are still on camera and often poke fun at the genre
Decided to watch the original Poltergeist last night. Haven't seen it since I was kid. I don't remember it being that terrifying, but damn, the last 20 minutes are intense.
I'll probably skip the remake
Sacrifice was recently added to Netflix and wasn't a bad thriller/mystery movie.
Watch I AM The Pretty Thing That Lives in the House yesterday. Was a creepy/tense movie. You knew what would eventually happen, because they tell you at the beginning, but the story to get there is interesting.
Saw, You are Next, Train to Busan, then Trick 'R Treat. Descent.
I watched this tonight based on your recommendation. Really solid flick for Halloween night. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the genre. It's very slow. It's tense for sure. The mood and setting make things that would be laughable in "horror" films actually quite startling and scary. It's only 90 minute but feels really long. I'd say it's a great movie to watch before going to bed or something. If you have anything that you're looking forward to getting to when the movie ends I can definitely see this one feeling like it's dragging out. Being anxious would ruin it for you.
That's fair. It's hard to find a good supernatural/ghost movie these days. Conjuring was good; 2 was okay. Babadook was good as well.
After that there aren't too many that are straight supernatural/ghost movies. Obviously you've got some of the classics, like Poltergeist, but sometimes you want to watch something new.
Tried to watch the new Poltergeist and holy crap it was awful. I am not one to give up on bad movies. I've watched some shit ones to the end but Poltergeist I quit about 30 minutes in
Hacksaw Ridge, The Wailing (korean thriller/horror), Somos lo que Somos (Mexican misterio/horror - there's an Eng. remake: We are What We Are), the new Ouija.
I don't like the premise of Hacksaw Ridge tbh.
