right but there's little reason to do it now that there's at least a half dozen established shells on every server and having the leader do their homework *before* the event starts will pay massive dividends in drops down the line.

Do you know what the drop rates are like on the 35 pieces? You can't just go into Salvage and expect to come out with a completed piece in a week. Even if you went after the same NM every day for two weeks, and killed it every time, there's still a good chance you won't get a drop.
And while the bosses will always drop 2 pieces, there's 8 or 9 to draw from, so again you could go for weeks without getting the piece you need.
A typical run will consist of several objecties. You cannot attempt to hit every NM in the zone; its just impossible; either time or paths will get in your way.
For example our Arrapago run last night
2nd floor QQA
3rd floor QQTH
4th floor QQTH
5th floor Mini-chariot
7th floor boss
Our silver seas has two flavors
1st floor Hammerblow
2nd floor Powderkeg
5th floor boss
OR
1st floor Hammerblow
2nd floor Powderkeg
3rd floor Gyroscopic gears (if ares gear lotter on)
4th floor CC
Bhaflau
1st floor rampart if MB up : if is turns into rampart run else boss run
Rampart run:
2nd floor rampart
3rd floor rampart (if ares gear lotter on)
boss run:
4th floor rampart till 10m left
5th floor boss
Zhayolm
Either a run for 15s or 35s (need silver sea 35s before we start on boss)
15 run is depending on what you want to hit and usually ends there due to time
35 run:
1st floor madame
2nd floor madame + Jakko
5th floor north madame (needs 3 people without any pathos)
6th floor madame (needs 4 previous NM kills)
Then again my group wants a lot of usukane and morg gear. So your run paths may vary greatly. We have a 'core' group of ~6 but a roster of 9 or so.
an experienced group is capable of hitting every NM on a given path without hitting time constraints in arra zhay and SSR. this isn't the case in bhaf unless you interrupt ramparts before they finish.
of these, arra is probably the easiest to do a 'full' clear on.
I keep meaning to update it too lol
I just believe experience is the best route to go with this, blindly, we got to the boss on our first run, and 2nd run didnt have enough DDs, but still got a good decent run.
I have 3 or 4 monks
plus myself as nin
and good efficent mages
three mnks and a nin >_>;? how many people do you go with lol? and do you have a brd?
That should be more than enough DDs. Imo, start targeting NMs for 35s your members want, and get used to just the regular mobs in the zone. Once you have one or two, start going for a boss and see how that works. Personally i recommend 8 or less people so that everyone gets a fair share of cells (if not fully capped), so everyone can be totally efficient.
Ughh. Ya you're right there's no point in doing research before heading in as long as you can "reach" the boss. Clearly you beat salvage. Going in blindly you won't even find half the nms, gl. In before the pic of a 17 person arrapago run with a macha's coat in the loot pool...
What kind of leader are you? Before even considering of asking a question here you should read up all the info that's staring you in the face. Anyone who reads Salvage sections on wiki can understand atleast 85% of Salvage.
What's next? Cell questions?
But he learns so much better blindly going in when we have pretty much figured salvage out!!
never, because he wont get past the first floor of you know what zone
yeah, because telling you to go read the hundreds of pages of information these forums have is being elite, then you have other things to worry about. You're being lazy by not looking shit up, which is why your group is going to fail extremely hard. You sound like my old ls leader "lets go into shit blindly!!!!! i don't wanna read about anything!!!!".
