Going with more than 7 people is a waste. For all runs but zhyla I use MnkX2,brd,rdm,thf,whm,blm. For zhlya change the blm for a blu. 3 monks and a ninja is a waste of bodies. Been able to do most runs with 6 and hit all NM's/boss.

I tink you misunderstanding me, Ive read about salvage, all im saying is that w/ me the way I learn is when I read about it and then experiencing it are two different things.. I wanted to be ready for both sides, reading about salvage made me interested. Experiencing it got me excited about what to come.

Whats important to me is being successful and having fun in the game at the same time.

Dude....you say you've read about salvage, but honestly i don't think you have. If you HAD bothered to read the 300+ pages of info this site had for you you wouldn't have to ask here if you could go from zone to zone in 1 salvage run. You would understand that 35 drop rates are extremely horrible and do not drop unless you have really good luck(or, don't have my TH on mobs D:< ). Ill put it to you this way, my core 6-7 ppl in salvage group have been going pretty much since September, you reading me? One of our members only has ONE completed peice because most 35's simply refuse to drop. it took me almost 8 fucking months to finish skadi feet. This was after running about 5-6x a week every day for 8 months. We have yet to see a morri feet, we have yet to see a 35 marduk legs from rampart(this is from beginning of group when we got ONE but it went to somebody who will never upgrade so we don't count it). I took us almost 9-10 months to get a 35 usu body/morri crown. I'm sorry to rant, but you seriously should have read the info that was right in front of your eyes.
I'm sorry i cant do that

Drops are all about luck. You could technically complete a piece in 3 runs if you were extremely unheard of lucky. Otherwise you can expect to bang your head off a wall for endless runs where nothing drops.

We learned early on that less is better in Salvage and taking in 15 people to a zone is completely ineffective and wastes a lot of time cell farming plus there is a lot more people to make mistakes. Generally now we do split runs each session with 6-7 per farming group with a maximum of 10 per MB run (usually a couple of these people go cell free and are just there to lot 25s to complete pieces). Last SSR run we did we covered Powderkeg, GGs, CC and the MB. Our Arra runs now are becoming a full clear on NMs when farming. Still working on trying to do 1F 5F 6F MB on frogs and we always seem short on time after 6F usually because 5F is a total whore with charm spam ><

Our group runs 4 times a week and has over 70 completed pieces now and 100+ 35 drops yet we have had 0 Usukane Body 35 drops and only 1 Morrigan Feet and Ares Legs drop doing the same run 1-2 times a week. However we have had 11 Usukane Feet 35s, 7 Skadi Pants 35, 7 Marduk Bodies all of which are generally rotting now unless a new member shows up needing them. As for the bosses, Skadi Pants 25 are making us want to /wrist now. Been trying to complete 5 of the 7 drops for getting close to 6 months now with no drop from MB ~.~ We have a lot of members in our group mainly because it is our HNM shells group and anyone from the LS is welcome to come so the pieces are mostly spread amongst a lot of members however we have a core group of about 15 people who show up every run with the rest showing up when AP allows around once a week. We never take all these people into the same run tho. It just ends badly

rather than run/wk count + total completed rate, we might be better off talking about runs/completed piece - since almost no shell started at the same time.

since I dropped my original shell (it was breaking up) and started my own, we've averaged about 1 completed piece every 5 runs.

this number surprised me. (it's ~25 completed pieces and ~125 runs) although it includes pieces completed by late joining members with parts from other shells.

If I exclude those we get about.. 1 completed (15,25,35) piece every 8 runs. most of our pieces are bhaflau and arrapago drops, but that's pretty common I think in any group of our vintage (ssr just sucks and zhayolm wasn't well understood for a long time, so we weren't able to effectively target any 35s from there until later on in the shell's life)

Im not here to argue, at all...I feel sorry for your luck bro, Im going after usukane myself. Now 300+ pages, I dont have enough time to read, in one day... Ive read through the guides on wiki and whatnot to get a general Idea. Its just the way I learn, to experience and read about it first hand, and my group understands that its gonna take some time for us no rush.

Seriously, I read the info and tha route thing just didnt click for me and this is why I asked the question.

From what ive read the average time to complete a piece is going on 4-6 months depending on how many times a week people go do this. A previous poster said his peeps go everday...that should increase his drop rate also.

you misunderstood what I was talking about I think.

the average time for any individual member to complete a piece is about 4-6 months (average number of drops per member over the life of my shell is 2.16; we've had high turnover) and the average time for any particular piece (say, morrigan's robe) is much much higher.

I was talking about what the finish rate was for the shell as a whole (any piece rather than particular pieces.)

it's not exactly good though. allowing for turnover my shell is about 18 people over the life of the shell (around 9 at any given time). at 5 runs per finished piece, it would take 98 runs to get every member one piece. at say, 4 runs a week that would be about 6 months.

assuming your distribution system is remotely fair, your first 5 piece member will probably be when the shell has an average of 2.5 drops per person at about the 1 year mark. (excluding the possibility that your one full skadi lotter goes 5/5 really fast due to no competition etc.)

but all of that assumes that you've got the ability to hit the number of nm's we do in a given run. - if you hit substantially fewer it will take longer to finish pieces.

Sup, i'm not going for usukane, im going for morri. And i probably wont 5/5 untill next year(because im almost last in line for feet i think?) and we haven't had a 35 morri feet yet. The only usu35 body we got, went to sath...then he sold his account, so that body was lost. we just recently got a 35 skadi body(1st one ever since we started). You dont have enough time to read in one day? so why dont you read them while lfp, its not hard, all you really have to do is skim and read. Quit making excuses.

If you have the time to put up with salvage drop rates, you have the time to research the threads a little and at least figure out how salvage paths work

Not at all, I just said 300+ pages is a lil much to read at once, Im not one for craming information like that i dont learn the right way so ill pace myself.

We got a fair distribution system, amounting the point system we use, we just got finished doing our runs for today and we got 2 15 pieces a usukane and marduk drop, and bhaflau card... Tried to go for some nms, but we didnt execute properlly.

15s are trash (by the way) most shells don't even bother to count them for anything. and how did you fail to hit any nm's in bhaflau? o.o

But, uhh, did you miss the fact they got 2 15's? SUCCESS. And now they can trade that card in for a free bhaflau remnants permit AMIRITE?
