I was in need of some graphic editing programs recently due to having to reformat and didn't quite feel like DLing adobe stuff again(lost the burned copy). So I decided to see what, if any open source equivalent programs were out there.
I'm sure many of you have heard of the GIMP, but it turns out there is an open source alternative to nearly every adobe program in the main creative suite!
I stumbled upon this site - http://www.osalt.com - in my search, and not only do they have open source alternatives to graphics programs, but forlots of "mainstream" programs.
I strongly recommend checking this site out. I've been messing with the Illustrator alt, "inkscape" and it's actually a really cool program; a bit different in looks, but very easy to use, and pretty powerful too.
