I predict USC beats Notre Dame 62-7 or something to score BCS style points and puts the final nail in the coffin for Weis.

I did not think OU was this good. But honestly, compare directly: do you think Florida's offense is that good? I don't think there's any question it's not. Maybe competitive on their very best day, but yeah, not like that.

Do you think Florida's defense can hold a Texas Tech to 14 points? Hell no.

OU just dominated a team that would probably be a very tough game for Florida in damn near identical fashion to the way Florida dominated.... The Citadel. Yeah.


And, I actually really want to see a good big 12 team play USC, I'm not as impressed with USC's defense lately (it's still sick but not like I thought), and they're just not the ridiculous offense we're used to seeing out there.

As a Penn State alum I'd rather us play USC than Oregon State again. Beating Oregon State for the 2nd time proves nothing and then Penn State and the Big 10 still sucks. At least if we get a shot at USC we can prove we deserved to be there in the title hunt.

Teams show up for different games. Tech didn't show up today. After watching the game I put this more on Tech's exhaustion than on OU's defense. Yeah OU put up more of a pass rush than I'd seen in the Big 12 all year, but where was that rush vs. every other team?

And is Florida's offense that good? The SEC defenses shit all over the Big 12 defenses. And I HATE the SEC teams beause of their (and the medias) superiority complex. And before you go and compare yards per game etc...anyone who watches football can tell the difference between a bad defense and a solid offense. While the Big 12 is full of solid offenses, there is no cornerback/safety in that conference that should go pro. You can't say the same about the SEC.

If I told you to name me 2 teams that you wouldn't want to play in a BCS bowl as a Big 12 team, it would be Florida and USC. And like I said last page when you laughed at me (and you're the Big 12 guru), Oklahoma will play out of there skiis this game and beat Tech handily. Oklahoma in Norman and Tech in their 3rd game against a top 10 team. Go look at cover trends for Vegas. Teams going into their 3rd strait big game ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS fail to cover. An Oklahoma route was all but guaranteed. I still don't think they (Oklahoma) would be favored on a neutral field against either Florida or USC.

Lot's of research goes into making spreads that provides for the least amount of risk with a high reward potential. Agreed, Penn State has nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing Oregon State. Win big? Well, yeah, you already did that. So what. Win close? Yeah, you beat a mediocre Pac-10 team, good job. Lose? lolpennstate. A close loss to USC is probably going to make Penn State look better than a blowout win against Oregon State.

As I said earlier, though, people in Happy Valley, Columbus and Eugene want Oregon to win on Saturday; most other people probably want the Beavers.

They don't even get the chance if they don't get over texas. BCS standings is the tie breaker, so they won't even play in the championship. They do, however, play Oklahoma state next week on the road. If they win that, regrettably, they'll probably jump texas. Only way I see around that is if Oklahoma state plays them really well and oklahoma squeeks out a win while Texas beats the living shit out of Texas A&M. I'm praying for a Texas/Florida NC, I'd hate for Bob Stoops to get embarassed again.

It was in response to someone else posting the original line, and it was (pretty obviously I thought) just a comment that I was surprised the line was that wide. And no, I don't know all the formulas and whatnot, but I understand that it's based largely around the mathematical odds and changes with the betting. I just would've favored tech before all the math.
