Texas got beat on the road at the last second by a play orchestrated by 2 people that will be sitting beside each other when the Heisman is called out. If there's a way to lose, there's no better way.

It's not a bad loss, but it's worse than Oklahoma's. Everyone will admit Texas beats Texas Tech 7-8 times out of 10 and as such, their perceptions of all teams will be affected. Take the season in as it's worth for all it's worth.

So, you lose on a neutral site to a perennially elite college football team, a team as amazingly athletic and well-coached, not to mention your biggest and toughest rival? Or you lose on the road to a team you have outmatched in most positions, simply because you laid an egg in the first half and fucked around too long before coming back.. a team who later was simply sodomized by the other team in the 3-way mix?

I'd say the second loss is worse.

Edit: yeah, octopus, that's how I feel. After you see that Texas Tech's run didn't pan out, (they almost lost to Baylor at home..) do you really forgive Texas for losing to Texas Tech as easily as you can forgive Oklahoma for losing to Texas? It's not an easy tie to break, but it's one that has to be. I think it'd be cool if they could just say fuck it to Missouri and let Oklahoma and Texas go up to Kansas City and play on a cool December evening at Arrowhead.

Texas beat Oklahoma State by.. 4.. at home? I'm not crazy, you guys are just turning it into a head-to-head tie between Texas and Oklahoma. You're turning the game in Dallas into an elimination game; that isn't fair. Why isn't any other 1-loss team's loss an elimination loss? It's a 3-way tie and only a 3-way tie that makes this BCS ranking shit come into play where OU jumps Texas. If OU wins this game, in any fashion, they will have earned whatever they get.

It isn't a question of if they have earned it...they have. Do they deserve it? Not in my opinion. And I still think you are beyond delusional to think that Texas' loss to tech is the worst between the 3 against each other.

Texas' loss isn't the worst of the three. It's the worst of the two; we know Tech's loss is the worst. No one here is arguing for Tech to go play Missouri; it's between OU and Texas and I was just weighing those 2 losses. And I know it can be argued both ways. I just stated the way I lean, and you lean the other. Either one of the two teams will beat Florida.

The BCS bowls would never take Boise St. over Ohio St. unless they were forced to by whatever the automatic at-large ranking qualifier is for making it. (don't remember what number you have to be off the top of my head)

Ohio St. could be playing in Baghdad and they still would bring 50k fans to the game.
