I think both UNC and Georgia Tech have a good shot at being ranked. The ACC should be interesting, especially with the egg Maryland laid tonight.

As for Bama, we should wait and see on how tough Kentucky is. If they win their next two home games and play Florida close in the Swamp, it's just another testament to how deep the SEC is. That being said, I wouldn't be afraid of Bama if I was another top-10 team right now.

Normally I'm down on the Big 12 but right now I'd rank them:
    1. OU
    2. Mizzou
    3. LSU
    4. Texas
    5. Penn St.
    6. Texas Tech
    7. Alabama
    8. USC
    9. BYU
Then it gets dicey with Floirda, Ohio St., Georgia, maybe Utah, maybe Vandy, who knows.

by the way alabama hasn't trailed a team the entire season, outscored their opponents 88-0 in the first quarter, if any #10 team thinks they shouldn't be worried, well the above comment applies. Also kentucky was 4-0 while they weren't wins against big opponents it just showed that they were a decent team.

I can see the case for bama dropping to 3 since thats what happened to UGA when they were losing to USC and came back, but an off weekend LSU shouldn't move up.
    OU
    Mizzou
    Bama
    LSU
    Texas

USC should drop out of the top 10 after beating a ranked opponent because they shouldn't have been in the top 10 in the first place.

Yeah, Ohio State, the perennial overrated big 10 team, get stomped on by the #1 team without their star player, while their qb is losing his job, drop to 13.

USC get stomped on by an unranked team with no kind of excuses to make whatsoever, and stays in the top 10.

Sorry USC fans, but when you're getting favorably overrated in comparison to Ohio State... yeah, shit's just wrong.

Doesn't really matter, USC is easily one of the best 10 teams in the nation. They'll win out, go to the rose bowl (or national championship depending on how all the others above them play, after last year, I won't count them out yet), and they'll curb stomp their competition in january.

Again. You know.. the only Big 10 team I see standing a chance against em is Penn State. And that's only because Penn State's offense could match up well with USC's defense and they could actually score points.

I don't disagree that USC is one of the top 10 teams. (that doesn't mean they deserve a top 10 ranking with the way rankings work right now)

I don't believe that anyone will rout whoever comes out of the big 12 on top, as whoever it is will have an offense every bit as good as USC's, led by an even better quarterback, one of the top defenses in the country (rather stats reflect it or not, to get through the big 12 on top this year your D is going to have to be ridiculous), and have played multiple games of better competition than USC has seen since VY.

    SPARTY ON!

UGA creeped back into the top 10. Alabama nosedived relatively speaking in the USA Today poll...

Idunno, the Big XII AND the SEC would really have to be bloodied up for USC to get a BCS Title nod again. The press might love USC, but the computers will not push them in over a SEC/BigXII champ no matter how hard Carrol wants to lobby. Im talking a 2 loss UGA Team beats a 1 loss Bama team in Atlanta, and then Mizzou Drops 1, Oklahoma 2, and then Oklahoma beats Mizzou.

On that same note, I think even an undefeated Penn State would have trouble convincing voters theyre more worthy than a SEC or Big XII champ. It would be close, as their schedule would be much tougher overall (compared to Pac-10), but their pre-season ranking and the general failure of the Big 10 there the past 2 years might kill them if it gets a little gritty.

How is dropping from #4 to #4 a nosedive? >.>; Also, they stayed the same #2 in the AP Poll. They only lost like.. 11 points in the USA Today and 28 in the AP Poll.

Penn State won't have trouble as an undefeated team to get in the National Championship game over a 1 or 2 loss Big XII/SEC team. If it's Penn State undefeated, and then say.. UGA with two losses, and Oklahoma with 1, it'd be Oklahoma vs Penn State. Penn State's schedule may not be as hard as UGA's, but it's still got a tough stretch of away games and undefeated > 2 losses. Failure of past years in a conference means nothing to the BCS Computer System.

If Penn State was only able to put up 20 on Purdue, you have to think theyll have some harder issues against OSU, Wisconsin, and even Michigan State.

I think the press will give an undefeated Penn State their due, but strength of schedule and not being higher pre-season will hurt them in the computers come the instance between a 1 loss Big XII/SEC champs and a undefeated Penn. Maybe i was just expecting more since PSU has laid 30-40+ on everyone so far, and they do look good...think im going in circles now, so ill stop. Hope that made more sense.
I'm not sure if you watched the whole game, but in my opinion PSU looked better than the score showed. I dunno if the field was sketchy or what...but there were 5-6 instances where PSU players slipped and went down on their own and it cost them major yards. One of those instances would have been a TD, one a sure first down, and a handful of others.

And there's no way an undefeated major conference team doesn't go to the national championship over a 1 loss team. Maybe the computers would hurt them, but 2/3rds of the computer points come from the polls, and the press loves JoePa. Now if there's 3 undefeated major teams, then maybe PSU would be boned...unless JoePa were to say it would be his last year, then who wouldn't want to see one of the best coaches ever go out with a national championship. :D

HE SAID RELATIVELY SPEAKING!!!!!1 you know kirin can't see anything through that load he has all over his face from the UGA cock he's always smoking.

I lol'd at LSU getting a vote for #1 when they didn't even play.

It's nice to see Ball State get ranked for possibly the first time ever. They should be favored in all their remaining games and will finish undefeated if they avoid any upsets. The only notable wins are Indiana and Navy, which isn't saying that much so they likely will get left out of any major bowls even if they go undefeated. I do think they could make things interesting against all but 8-10 teams out there.

Well shit, pardon me for thinking they were #2 in the AP last week. Which, since it is what I thought was the case, dropping from 2 to 4 when winning WOULD be a relative nosedive.

I wont mention how your UGA dominating team looked lethargic and lazy against a 16 freshman starting Kentucky team IN BRYANT DENNY STADIUM. But hey, when you guys drop a legitimate game and you start making excuses about it, ill be here laughing at you, hoping we get a chance to embarass you in Atlanta.

Gregorio: 1. Notice i never mention a 2 loss Big XII or SEC champ getting in over an undefeated penn state. I said if that ended up being the case...it would get a little gritty.

    2. Think what you want, but a 1 loss Big XII and SEC champs WOULD get in over an undefeated Penn State team. For a few major reasons. UGA, Florida, Oklahoma, LSU, and Mizzou were all ranked much higher preseason, and have much tougher conferences. Also, as we all know from Florida edging in 2 years ago after smiting Arkansas in Atlanta, those conference title games add a lot of padding to close races. Penn state at what, 12-0, would look like a lesser team than a 12-1 SEC or Big XII champ. 2 losses obviously changes things, but those 1 loss teams from those conferences are simply locks this year.
