I know when I saw it live in HD, I laughed my ass off.
There's a couple good shoots of that as well here: http://www.thewizofodds.com/the_wiz_...-defender.html
Good form squaring up to the guy. QB's face has a priceless WTF look.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama nose guard Terrence Cody will probably miss at least two games.
Coach Nick Saban said Monday that Cody sustained a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the second-ranked Crimson Tide's win over Mississippi.
Saban said Cody's injury is similar to one that sidelined offensive tackle Andre Smith for a game earlier this season. He is expected to miss this week's game at Tennessee and next week's game with Arkansas State.
The 365-pounder could be back in time for a game at No. 11 LSU.
Josh Chapman has been rotating in the middle with Cody. Saban said defensive end Lorenzo Washington could move back to his old position. Nick Gentry also got into the game some against Ole Miss.
good news, while I would like to see him help seal the deal against tennessee (always chance for an upset), would rather him be 100% against LSU. I hope he heals well, I tore my MCL almost completely in high school, shit sucks.
After watching this many times and trying to think of some excuse I think I'm going to chalk it up to the following...
You know when sometimes you are walking towards a stranger and you both move in the same direction to get out of the way? And then you move again but both in the same direction? And then you laugh and finally move around them? My guess is that the ref was like "Oh shit here he comes I'm going to run outside and I bet he'll cut inside. Whoops, he hasn't cut inside yet, better move more to the outside." (Rinse and repeat) And then finally the ref realized he couldn't get out of the way way and said "Fuck it, I'm going to get nailed, might as well protect myself".
Even that seems like a far stretch for how far the ref "followed/lined him up" but I can't think of anything else.
Anyone else shocked at how little attention this has gotten on the news? I thought Spurrier would be going nuts.
EDIT: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3654428
Finally something on ESPN.
Hell, Spurrier said the ref was in his rights. I still don't know what to think of it. When I first saw it I was just kinda "what the fuck just happened...?" hell even the commentators were pointing it out. To be honest to me it looks like he lined Garcia up and forearmed him.
he stepped forward and not backward like he should have, guess the old instincts of being a linebacker came back. but SC scored later, would've been different if they were unable to score.
This week's games:
Boston College (+3) @ North Carolina
Cincinnatti (PK) @ Connecticut
Texas Tech (+2) @ Kansas
Michigan State (-4.5) @ Michigan
Oklahoma State (+13) @ Texas
Virginia Tech (+4.5) @ Florida State
Georgia (+2) @ LSU
Alabama (-7) @ Tennessee
Penn State (+2) @ Ohio State
Notre Dame (-11.5) @ Washington
Am i reading that right?
LSU is favored to win over UGA?
Gonna be some angry cajuns Saturday afternoon.
Finally, Little Brother gets some respect against Big Brother this saturday in Ann Arbor.
Lol.. god. You are one confident UGA fan =p It's hilarious too because you guys may finish with 3 losses. I'm sorry, but if you play LSU like you played Vandy, then woe be unto you, my friend. Though I do think UGA has a chance against LSU this Saturday because you are playing during the day. Playing LSU at night = bad. I don't think you beat Florida in Jacksonville.
Looking at the play there's another BIG lsu guy coming at him from his left side, kind of cutting off the ability to move that way. It does appear pretty clear though that there was room for him to slide forward behind the guy he tackled instead of just laying him out.
Definitely agree that the whole situation was saved by them scoring a TD a couple plays later, I think it becomes a hell of a lot bigger deal if they don't.
oh and Les Miles "Well we told him he's gotta wrap up!" was great lol
I just don't understand why he was so deep in the play to begin with lol I would have dove out of the way to the left of garcia.
