Yeah, and it helps when you have guys like Britton, Crabtree, and Harrell.

    It's the line.

You have to blitz to get pressure on them. Rushing 3 or 4 will NEVER get it done in time.

When you have 4 or 5 receivers out there every single play, 1 of em gets open eventually, and if you're blitzing there's somebody open right away.

There's just no way to defend it, they have a line of quarterbacks that aren't all that great averaging like 5000 yards passing every year since he took over.

Well yeah it's the line, but it always starts with the line, whether it's offense or defense. You have to have smart receivers too to know that they have to keep fighting to get open and come back to their QB.

Agreed, and that's a good point about the Big 12 in general this year, it's amazing how rarely you see one of those QB's scramble around forever and then throw it away or run, since the receivers all do such an amazing job of continuing to fight to get open, and work their way towards the qb while keeping separated from the other receivers.

    Tourney... with seeds!

Assuming all of these teams win out other than OU losing to Tech:

    1. Bama vs 8. OU

    2. Tech vs 7. Utah

    3. Florida vs 6. Penn

    4. USC vs 5. Texas

That would actually kind of suck, would probably end up with rematch between OU and Tech in final 4, and who knows what out of the bottom, probably Florida/USC which would be amazing to watch.

The winner of that shit would sure as hell deserve the title though, that's for damn sure.

also, lol KU still got 1 vote for top 25, Nebraska's schedule is verrry slightly tougher, same record, and they didn't get any (not that they should, just lol'ing)

edit, I did that wrong didn't I, it would be

    1. Bama 8. OU

    4. USC 5. Texas

    2. Tech 7. Utah

    3. Florida 6. Penn

That would actually be pretty damn entertaining after all.

It depends on what Bama does, if they beat Florida there's no reason they shouldn't be #1.

Also I totally forgot about them playing when I made the seeds >.>

God I wish we didn't. We always suck when we're ranked (Not that it's going to make a difference against Florida...)

I think Bama proved Saturday that they can win against a very good team when they don't jump out to a huge lead. Even without the distractions (mostly the rampant Saban-hating in Baton Rogue) these teams where strength vs. strength. Bama's running game against LSU's rush defense was fun to watch, and LSU still controlled time of possession despite the turnovers. I could make excuses and say the fumble through the endzone plus the bullshit unsportsmanlike on Wilson cost the Tide 14 points and it should have been 21-7 at halftime. I could also say the blocked FG was a fluke and OT shouldn't have even been necessary. But those things did happen and they factor into the perception of the game. Everyone knew it'd be close, in fact I think most people here picked LSU to win outright. I just think getting the victory on the road in a game like that proves Bama is more than just crushing an overrated Clemson team and a fast first half at Georgia.

As for Bama or TTech as #1, it doesn't really matter since they both control their own destiny after PSU's loss. If/when either of them loses, then we can debate about the plethora of one-loss teams out there. Frankly I wish Bama was demoted to #2 so they have a little locker room motivation and don't forget to show up against Miss. St. or Auburn.

Am I the only one who wants to see an OU/Boise State bowl game rematch?

Not at all. I'm hoping we get an OU/Boise State rematch, but if circumcstances are there, we might get Utah in there instead. Some of the projections have Florida v. Texas for the National Championship and Bama v. Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl, which would be fun. SEC v. Big 10, third year in a row in a big bowl game, heh. No one wants to see a Ohio State @ USC rematch :/ Penn State would be good out there though. They match up better.

As far as Bama goes, yeah. It was a game riddled with tons of mistakes, and you gotta believe Saban will tear into his guys about the screw ups. From JPW's costly penalty, to Javier Arenas trying to make something out of nothing on that subsequent kickoff return... they still need to sure themselves up. Don't sleep on Mississippi State either. They snuck up and bit Bama last year.

Others say Bama against Pitt (which I think is a lopsided type of match-up) and Alabama against Boise State (which I'd love to see.)

Colin is about to talk about his bowl preditcions. I know, sounds stupid with a month left and it's "loltheherd", but the guy picks 70% against the spread, miles better than anyone in the country, and may understand more about predicting college football than anyone on the planet.

    National Championship:

Interesting how he picked Boise St over Utah. I'm guessing that he is saying Utah will lose one of their last two games?

Either case, Boise and Utah are 9 and 7 in the BCS ranking right now, and one of them will not make it...

He had utah losing to BYU, Texas Tech losing to Oklahoma in Norman, and Oregon State losing one of their last 3, probably to Arizona. Can you imagine the storm what would result in Oregon State winning out?

He's wrong on one thing with those bowl predictions. If (when) OU beats Tech in Norman, the 3-way tie in the Big 12 South will be broken by the BCS rankings. I know Texas is above OU right now, but the fact that OU's one loss came the earliest in the season of those 3 teams will help OU jump over Texas in the BCS standings. Look at Missouri being ahead of Oklahoma State; the BCS favors teams who fuck up earlier in the season over teams that lose later in the season. Of course, this is the characteristic of the BCS that keeps USC in the picture every year. So OU will jump Texas, albeit barely, sneak into the Big 12 Championship, and ignoring an upset by Missouri, it will be OU representing the Big 12 in the National Championship, not Texas.

I'm going to stay away from the chaos Oregon State could create in the PAC-10...

Wouldn't Texas have to lose another game, even if Oklahoma wins out, to be in the Big 12 championship? OU cannot get in the national championship without winning their conference championship.
