The big problem with the system too is that it causes large amounts of disparity between the different apparatuses. A team/individual could be in first place, but have their final event be on something like the Pommel Horse, and get completely screwed out of a medal simply because it scores lower.

Well, there was, I think, a Romanian who got pretty fucked on her scoring too. It isn't that they are incorrectly scoring the US or the other people, they are just vastly overscoring (or under penalizing) the chinese.

Well, you can bet that if other countries see medal contendors losing out because of this scoring to the same degree the Americans are, you'd hear it more.

Unfortunately, we're bitching the most because we're getting the most opportunities.

Crap. Lolo Jones didn't get a medal. :< She ran the 100m hurdles in 12.43 seconds during semi-finals, but was .3 of a second slower during the finals and got 7th. Clipped a hurdle and it screwed up her stride.

No golds for the Iowa girls this year.
