Nice. I think and hope they do win.

Dwight howard ftw, since his superman dunk he's been a beast. team USA is so fun to watch its like a college game when they play, so much better than watching a NBA game.

You think the Jamaicans aren't tested like every day? My mom was telling me she heard some of the runners have been tested 30+ times for the Olympics.

Track & Field is just serious business down there. Dudes amazing.

U.S. plays Argentina in the semis on Friday. Should be a great game.

Canada can rack up some more medals in canoe/kayak and possibly in equestrian.

Yeah. And besides a few cases, Jamaica is super clean compared to a lot of other countries. I wouldn't be worried about doping when it comes to Bolt. He's just that damn fast. That and he's always been a really fast runner. I remember hearing how he was the fastest High Schooler there too for a while.

I think the only Jamaicans that have been caught for doping were those who trained under that guy who trained Marion Jones.

I don't know... since Team USA lost to Argentina in the last Olympics, they have blown them out every time they have met, including last year's qualifying FIBA tournament and the World Championship in 2006...

The doping comment was sarcasm. But i mean seriously, something has to be up when a guy drops his personal best by half a second to set a new world record.

Nah. Bolt has Donovan Bailey as a mentor.

As in an actual mentor, or just a figurative one?

The brief interview that CBC had with Bailey after Bolt beat his 100m record time was very positive. Bailey seemed extremely happy at how Bolt had performed and how he was continuing to push the limits of sprinting.

What does having Donovan Bailey around have to do with anything? Who cares if he set a world record over a decade ago, he's not the one running the races now.

Nothing really. Bolt is just a beast. He deserves those golds.

They interviewed Bailey? I thought they interviewed Johnson?

CBC interviewed Bailey. I haven't seen anything about Johnson yet. They said he might be at the olympics doing stuff for the BBC.

Well if he's mentoring Bolt or other sprinters then it does have something to do with it.

Well, considering he broke the 100M record with enough spare time to phone home, make a ham sammich, and light a spliff.... I'm not too surprised.

It's funny how much separation he got from the other runners when he actually put in 100%.

What's even more freaky amazing to me is that he looks like he's out for a leisurely Sunday jog at the end of his 100m run. The guy's got huge strides.

He's 6 foot 5 so he's got massive height on everyone.

espn is pissing me right the fuck off

I totally avoided this thread until I could catch the 200 broadcast to see what happened then, and of course they just have to come up out of the blue with no warning whatsoever and show a picture of him winning along with telling what happened knowing full well it hasn't aired anywhere in the U.S.

The *EXACT* same thing happened with the beam finals too.

I know they're being bitches cuz they're pissed they don't get to air it, but come on can they really think it's a smart decision to make people avoid their channels?

So, did Michael Johnson say anything yet?

It's raining in China so a lot of the outdoor stuff may be postponed >.<
