Damn. I didn't stay up to watch that game. I'll watch it this afternoon. Anyone see the closing ceremonies?

I didn't make it to the closing ceremonies, but I stayed up for the gold medal presentation after the game. I got to bed at 5:00 AM (up and at work now >.>), but it was so worth it.
Well if the olympics couldn't end with the marathon, an excellent basketball game is just as nice![]()
Yeah that basketball game was amazing. There was no way I was going to fall asleep once I started watching it. And I can't get over that 4-point play by Kobe late in the game when we were only up 5 and he brought it back up to 9... I'm pretty sure I'd cave in and buy a DVD (blu-ray maybe?) of the 8 Olympic basketball games if NBC is smart and sells such an item.
Lol NBC is selling tapes on everything. I saw one commercial for a tape about Phelps. I'm pretty sure they will do one for basketball (dunno about replaying all the games, might be a recap tape. If it's like that, then fuck buying it).
It's good to see NBC wastes no time in their attempt to make money. This is probably why they show events 12 hours late, so they force you to buy tapes of the events you missed lol.
Yeah I'm kinda indifferent about their DVDs for the opening ceremony and Michael Phelps. I guess they could be cool if they were well done, but really I think the only thing from the Olympics I'd pay to see again might be some of those basketball games. We had some absolutely amazing plays throughout these Olympics.
The folks over at Nike always seem to make uber-inspiring commercials.
I really liked the Marvin Gaye/Redeem Team commercial. This one is going to be timeless.

Edit:
And wow, I don't think I've ever seen Kobe with his shirt off lol. I almost turned gay for a second there.
Kang in amercia we call them DVD's, its not the 80's anymore, tapes arent made anymore. However, I did stay up to watch the medal presentation, i couldmt stay awake for the closing ceremonies I passed out, besides they probably faked that too.
Closing ceremonies were pretty cool, but the little bit that the London crew put on was pretty under-whelming.
The duet with Plácido Domingo and Song Zuying was really amazing; Zuying has an unbelievable voice.
Watching the closing ceremonies now, so sad it's over
Well there is going to be some beach volleyball on NBC next Saturday and some track and field on CBC so even though the games are done, the sports go on!![]()
2012 is so far away.. sigh![]()
The reason that they're so quick to sell the DVDs is they want to make money while Olympic fever is still high. In 3 months nobody is going to give a shit about Michael Phelps and competitive swimming.
This is my first time really paying attention and getting into the Olympics, and I'm glad I decided to tune in. Absolutely amazing. I loved Visa's ads, I loved the Coke ad with James and Ming, I loved the opening and closing ceremonies, and NBC's final montage to sum it all up. My favorite moment was the German weight lifter who kissed his weights and dedicated his gold to his dead wife, so touching.

Morgan Freeman is God
Anyone know where to find some good best of the Olympics montages? I liked the final one NBC showed, but fuck them for wanting to keep their videos off of the internet. I need these to keep me company, it will be another four years before I'm interested in sports again.
Some highlights/images sticking in my head:
Opening ceremony.
Lezak (+0.5s) vs Bernard.
Those girls are not 16 (ok 15.75+).
But Alicia is hot.
So is Nastia.
Phelps vs Cavic.
#8.
Bolt, wtf.
Surprisingly entertaining volleyball on the beach and in the gym.
And finally USA basketball (I followed it religiously almost; I caught all of our 8 games start-to-finish, and I've never done that before during an Olympics. >.>)
I watched these Beijing Olympics more than I've watched any other.. ('-')
Same. I actually watched it a shit ton more than any others. Thanks a lot, Michael Phelps. D: He got me hooked, then I stuck around for basketball, volleyball (Okay, didn't take much coaxing here), Gymnastics, and Bolt.
And yeah. I loved that commercial.
I enjoyed watching phelps swim, Bolt break records, that german heavy lifter was a great moment, USA men's waiting 8 yrs to get gold in basketball and to cap it off, misty may dancing after she won the gold, her in the white bathingsuit will forever be burned into my mind.
