Well yeah, I just think that's a douchey thing to do.

The only notable thing about this was that he was banging some chick and running for president while his wife was dealing with crippling cancer.

Quite a shame. Gotta feel for his wife.

Not having sex with women other than your wife is an unrealistic expectation?

I'd say in todays world it's a pretty silly expectation to have, considering how often it seems to happen.

Maybe a better way to put it is...people just shouldn't be so surprised and/or outraged when it happens anymore, because it happens so often.

Didn't Newt go forward with divorce proceedings while one of his wives was undergoing cancer surgery?

Kinda 'been there, done that' with the infidelity lately, too. Yes it CAN hurt a Democrat zomg!

That's a silly attitude. Gang violence happens a lot today too, but I'm still going to be outraged every time I hear someone was murdered in a drive-by.

Hi, I'm going to commit to a lifetime of fidelity, loving, and never cheating, but don't be surprised and/or outraged when it turns out my commitment was bullshit <3

Because cheating on one's spouse is a completely new phenomena that never happened before the 1960's? People need to get past the fantasy that everything was a peachy-keen and swell Norman Rockwell painting before the 1960's. There is a reason that there is a commandment about adultery in the Bible, it's because people were committing it- you don't try to make something taboo if no one is doing it.

And something that I think very few people have considered- it's not cheating if there is an agreement between both spouses.

    woooooooooooow
I'm embarrassed that our society even produces things like this. Sad indeed

PS: my take on the whole thing? I think it's funny considering edwards ran on the platform of a family man who loves his cancer-battling wife in 2004. Edwards is a known fraud/douche though so no big surprise. I find it funny that nobody seems to care about this yet a shoe tap in a restroom garners all the attention. It's also funny how Edwards denies seeing her since the affair, yet was seen a few nights ago in a hotel room with the mistress, and even holding a baby (his?). Let's face it, this is supposed to be a man of morals (as all politicians are) and now he's a douche. I like the conservative double standard from sean hannity though when he said this is different from McCain's affair.
Guess what: cheating on your wife makes you a flaming dick.

...yes it is? Outside sex of any kind is cheating when you are married, period
And that's a really big leap to make anyways, no evidence/proof of this happening in this case

Is it called cheating because it's like breaking a contract or something or is it kind of like cheating in a game?

What? If you have an open marriage, no one is being cheated on.

But yes, no evidence that this is the case here.
