Soloing Brothers as BLM

Slightly off topic:

How would you adapt the solo strategy to utuilise a THF? My friend was kind enough to trek his and my char to key the key item so we can do the ENM. I have no experience with this ENM and I dont fancy my chances solo'ing it on my first attempt so I might as well make use of him if i can.

At a guess: have him aggro both, I pick the little one off and kill it while he just blink tanks the other one? Or kite it maybe if he has gimped speed across the ice?

thf/nin and use accomplice to rip it off you if it gets hairy? beyond that not much. you can't have him hitting it or you're just begging for it to put up a shell mid nuke or something. i guess he could go thf/drk and try to stun a cure or something.

Normally it puts a Shell up once during my Chainspell phase if I go RDM, and you need to dispel that right away and hope to kill it in time.

Unblest Armor is a direct -50% magic damage taken. If you see it, it MUST be dispelled right away. Shell 3 is not nearly as brutal and can probably still be nuked through if time is against you.

And it's POSSIBLE to land Sleep on the big guy but definitely nothing to rely on. I've done it maybe twice out of 50+ tries for fun after killing the first, as RDM.

Yeaahhh.... Voidstorm + Klimaform isn't exactlty the ES Sleep 2 I was hoping it would be. Went 0/4 on landing sleep, although I don't have any enfeebling merits and am missing a couple pieces of gear. I won't be trying that out again.

At 340-odd enfeebling, I've never landed sleep on it without elemental seal. I've tried every run for the hell of it, it's probably lower cap stick rate and people have gotten lucky.

I'm having a bit of trouble with this, generally i'll die to a TP move during or just before my last nuke on the little taur. Do they only use the doom gaze attack outside melee range? Should I maybe slow my nuking slightly and aim to get in a second bind before my final nuke (I'm pretty paranoid about the big one waking and owning me)?

Any advice beyond "get better at soloing nub"?

Gear wise I use:

HQ stave/bugard+1/spirit lantern
AF+1 hat/ele torque/cunning/moldy
NQ weskit/zmitts/diamond/sorc
rainbow cape/penitents/mahatma/yigit
I'm a hume with 1 int merit, capped potencies, capped ele and 4 enfeebling merits. I've eaten cream puffs when I've attempted this.

Usually I go in and buff up, rest up etc, move in and eseal sleep the big one, grav the little one, then bind the little one and cast burn on it. Then thunder 4, blizz 4, aero 4, font burst 2 freeze 2 > die to back swish during my thunder 4 to finish it. I'm confident I can solo the big one once the little one is dead, I don't have the really tight time scale for it, so there's a little more room for error.

Generally speaking I'm fairly paranoid about time on the little one, because if the big one wakes up I'm even more boned. I'm obviously doing something wrong, probably binding so early on, but I've yet to reattempt the enm, because climbing the hill sucks.

Edit: I can, in theory, walk my 75cor mule up with me, if it means a much easier win. I haven't bothered up till now because the climb is enough of a pain twice, let alone 4 times

So are you straight tanking it during manafont? You really shouldn't need to, especially if you're using 5 different nukes to kill it. If you really think you need more time I'd say go with avesta's strategy of pulling them back before sleeping.

I'm fairly certain that in order to have a good (i.e. 80%+) chance at beating this ENM every time, you're going to have use Manafont to kill the little one. My nuke damage is well above average (Novio, Morrigan's gear, Taru with capped BLM merits and 5/5 INT) and I still find that sometimes, even with Manafont, I only just make it through if the Eldertaur decides to spam Cure itself or use UA at a shitty time. Tier IVs are no match for -ga IIIs when it comes to speed killing, so if you're having trouble with the Elder then I'd say you pretty much have no choice but to use your 2-hour.

RDM/BLM & SCH/RDM could do this easily though? I've been leveling my Scholar in part just to do ENMs like this with my roommate
