Yes, it was that one. I really had to think about it after the ending, but it all turned up to be legit.

As for a 5th one, even with the new apprentice, there is still a lot they can do with the relationship between Jigsaw and him. So his character may be dead, but he will still be an important role.

I don't think they will ever top the first one, though.

I agree. The number of victims won't make the movie better, it just makes it harder to feel the character's act.
Jigsaw made Saw Saw. With him dead it will never be the same. New footage through flashbacks will make us see him but it's not the same.

when he stands up in that room, damn. I can't even explain how that caught me so off guard.

I remember reading an interesting tidbit, but the guy across from Cary Elwes in the first one (the photographer) was one of the writers of Saw.

Regarding the detective (cop?):

At the end/beginning of 4, when they're doing the autopsy, the guy gets a tape. It says something like you thought you'd be safe now that I'm dead bla bla bla. I was under the impression that he was the next game player, not the next Jigsaw.

1 was my favorite and 4 was my least favorite. I love the series though. Can't wait.

The beginning of 4 was actually the end of 3 and 4. Jigsaw dies in 3, but they dont find the tape until the autopsy. The detective who was sitting opposite of Wahlberg is the one who helped Jigsaw and Amanda, while Jigsaw was sick. They already knew there was another hand in the pot, because there was no way Amanda could have hoisted the Female cop onto that device. (where she was locked in and the key was dissolving in the glass of acid)

So yea, the Cop who listens to the tape is the next Jigsaw. But the whole "you thought you were done with the lessons" thing was directed at his apprentice.

Saw are on the same level as the Scary/Teen/Epic/Superhero Movie bullshit series. I didn't know people actually liked these enough to merit more going anywhere besides straight to home video.
