UO is easy even if your nin has shitty gear.

You can the lesser eyes almost completely naked on ninja and not worry about it.

I go nin/blm, nin/blm and RDM for that. Nin/war works fine too, /blm just gives ya a little more Elemental Nuke damage.

I've always done it as nin/war, blu/nin, rdm. and 2 blu +1 rdm.

They all work pretty well and the BC really isn't difficult in the least bit.

0/63 Kwaken Cwub. Planning another to run another 10-15 orbs for more junk to NPC later this week! The only reason to do this is for a remote chance at KC - if it's gil you want go do PCC or something that actually drops, I went 2/8 on that and have seen someone go 2/2.

I believe UIA droprate is arount 1/256 considering how infrequently they come into the market. I've only heard of 6 people getting them. I'm about 0/40 myself. If you're going for gil do PCC or Penitent's rope BC, otherwise the lure of the kraken and the 50k isn't so bad.

I've done UO without problem with a completely naked RDM/NIN (me), and two completely naked (besides AF katanas) NIN/WARs. It's incredibly easy, really.

I've only known 1 person to get drop from UIA. I usually do Under Observation, over the past year or so made about 7M from ~20 orbs.

I do my UIA with SMN,SMN,RDM, or SMN,RDM,COR, odly enough both work incredibly well.

Fight is easy, just have the person with hate Kite, or have an avatar keep hate, only problem is when he gets to low HP and can use Whirlwind or Maelstrom

For UO.... yah, Nakid NINs and RDMs can do it, its a calk walk, hes not kidding xD

based on the 0/n posts made in this thread alone, the current number of runs done w/o a drop is 120+70+60+63+40=353 runs w/o a drop. now, obviously these odds aren't as bad as it actually is (it DOES drop in contrast to what's posted here) but this gives an idea as to the odds against. assuming it's in fact 1/350 at 35 million for the club (nice numbers, may not look anything like your server's numbers) the average value of each UIA would be 100k, tacking on the 50k per run of guaranteed drops, that's 150k per run or 2.5k a seal. i feel confident there has to be a superior choice of seal use to UIA, such as UO. hell, even the astral ring bc may offer a better gil/seal ratio.

Blimey, what a fortuitously apt thread.

So I've recently been on/off considering possibly attempting to maybe try duoing Up In Arms with PLD + RDM. For no other reason than I haven't yet come across any prior testimonies for these two jobs trying this fight.

I'd be dragging my PLD friend along and throwing my 60 seals at it for the shits and the giggles basically. (Recently we duoed ODS on PLD + RDM for exactly the same reason. Got the win too! Woo.)

I've never done this BCNM before, so all of my understanding stems purely from reading other peoples' words on screens.

Question to all those who fight this with a PLD straight-up tanking the NM then, can I ask what sort of damage she does during her first look-at-me-I-have-healthy-tentacles-yay form? I've read that before she switches to tentacle-less magic damage, she hits fast and weak. With minimal support from a RDM who wants avoid using Convert, could a refreshed/hasted PLD be expected to go toe-to-toe against her effectively up to the point at which she switches forms and/or reaches 25%hp?

The initial strat I have in my head is PLD and RDM meleeing Fe'e through this first form down to 25% or so. At which point ES+Sleep2ing her and resting to full. Finally switching to gravity/kite method and Bliz2 nukes all the way with a Convert for double the fun dealing with the NM's last 1500-2000 hp.

(Also, the PLD would have two pairs of Frosty Pants on rotation during melee-phase.)

You definitely don't need ES to sleep it. You're going to need to sleep it a few times prior to 25% to keep the PLD's HP/MP and your own MP ok, but it should be pretty easy.

I used to do UO but then I fell in love with T&T. I seem to get decent luck on Sorc/astral ring and its soloable so I can clear my inventory whenever I feel like it. In the last 5 runs ive done ive got 2 astrals and 1 sorc (had a good 10 or so runs before that of crappyish drops).

I argue a bit with some friends over which BC and KS runs they do because they like the "big money pot" fights, whereas I prefer the consistant ones. They like ODS, whereas I do Copycat- they usualy get shit with an odd run of good money whereas I get pretty consistant 200k a run. Its your opinion in which one you want to do, but I don't like lottery BS/KSNM's I like the more consistent ones.

You can solo the mimic? What job? I was wondering about trying this on nin/dnc, but never got around to it.

By "solo", I'm pretty sure he isn't referring to besting the mimic.

    Simply that it's a one-man BCNM.

You pop the Mimic, you've already lost the BCNM whether you subsequently live or die.

Pretty odd for someone who's entire post was based around consistency (unless there is a way to guarantee the correct chest). Otherwiki even says the mimic is duoable by rdm and nin/war, and that was pre-dnc addition, seems likely possible to be soloed by a nin/dnc, but who knows, maybe not.

Or simply go on a job you don't care about and suck up the death. Again, if you find yourself fighting a mimic, you've already wasted your seals. Just take the quickest route back home.

Consistency on BCNMs for me is something like Crustacean Crabs. 100% mannequin body drops for a mere 20 seals makes me all frothy at the waistband. If the guy's T&T record is 3/5 on the good shit though, then fair play.

    Ya lucky bastard!

I don't care about exp, I care about 50 seals though, and as I said, I think there is a possibility that the mimic can be soloed. There are some very consistent BCNMs, the problem is just getting people to want to go.

I guess I just don't understand what soloing a mimic has to do with anything..

well there used to be a way to best the mimic, but nowadays I usually can guess which one is the mimic. Im not sure how, I just get this weird feeling about which chest is the mimic and out of about 30 runs I've gotten about 3-4 mimics total.

But now that the Man. body BC was mentioned, I might be tempted to try it.

and as far as 50 seals go, I've been soloing Blm a lot so its not like I suffer from a lack of seals.

Kill the Mimic, get the drops.

On topic, a Taru RDM/BLM can solo UIA with fair reliability, once you get a hang of the timing.

Holy fuck. When this BCNM was explained to me a while back, I was assured that Mimics didn't drop.. I've been living in ignorance all these months.

@Failure, sorry man. Please excuse my numnutty lack of knowledge (and subsequent confusion). What you were saying makes a great deal more sense to me now.

    And on topic..

What about KS? I was thinking of Royale Ramble. I was told its 100% drop on O ingot which I could use for usu mask upgrade.
