Always doing a synth on the same day and always the same direction will, without a doubt, give you solid statistical data that those sythns clearly hold a higher HQ rate than all of the other days and directions that you didn't test!

a sentiment I share at the moment. I breaksynthed my CC from 98-99 (or 7 of the 10 skillups, so 30ish synths) instead of leveling my smithing past 35.2 up to the fifties. It'll have to happen some time, but for now I could give two shits.

Also back to the semi-original topic around here, just a toss out, the more you craft during a day the higher your HQ ratio is. Try to do some lower level synths earlier in the day and the bust out the big guns in the evening.
