    Motherboard advice

So, looking to build a new computer and I'm having a hell of a time trying to decide on a motherboard. There's just so damn many my eyes start glazing over when I try to shift through them all.

Intend to use a Q6600, Radeon 4850, DDR2 ram, 1 dvd drive and ~3 hard drives(doubt I'd ever use more). No desire to ever crossfire/sli. Would like to overclock the cpu a decent amount.

Looking for something under $200 if anyone has any reccommendations. Spending a bit more isn't a problem but I don't really need a bunch of bells and whistles.

I was intending to go with a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128344 but after looking through so many motherboards now I can't remember why... /sigh

I'm a personal fan of the gigabyte P35 or the EVGA 680i. Both are overclock friendly and laid out well. Honestly you don't need to blow $200 on a motherboard if you don't plan to crossfire or SLI. You do get what you pay for, so don't buy a 40 dollar POS, but if you go for any name-brand mid range motherboard you should be fine.

i absolutely love my 680i by evga, it is rock solid, and pretty freakin awesome, the onboard bios codes aer <3, the on board power and reset buttons are <3 (meaning you dont have to connect every single freaking thing to test the board, just the psu and you can turn it on (refering to case buttons mainly))

I was looking at P45's mostly because I read in several places they worked well with quadcores. Anyone care to explain the difference between P35 and P45?

Looks like the P45 supports faster memory (1200), has a PCI 2.0 slot, has an improved northbridge and southbridge, more SATA ports, supports 16 gigs of memory instead of 8, and has 2 network ports instead of one.

They both support quad core CPUs and have the same maximum FSB speeds.
