So I got rid of my ps2 but I still have the hard drive that FFXI came with for it. I was wondering if the HDD could be reformated to work in a computer? If so, how? Thanks.

I would think so... it's just an IDE hard drive right? Stick it in your computer, hook up the cables, go into drive management and format it as a NTFS partition and you should be good to go.
Yes, you just need an IDE cable and power supply if you dont already have a source.
Those 2 i got off of ebay for about 7$(from china lol) for the purpose of modding my ps2.
The PS2 HDD synch's itself w/the PS2's system that it's connected to. And outside of all the stored data being erased/unusable w/another PS2, I don't believe you can hook it up to your computer due to the way its coded. It's similar to the difference between an Ipod and an Iphone: #an Ipod can also be used as an external HD, #an Iphone is coded in a way that you can't use the the empty space as an external HD.
