Most of the time phelps is on camera he is probably experiencing a mental and hormonal high, that can probably attribute to how he acts on camera.
Not to mention his metabolism is like 6-10x that of a normal person, as well as his heart rate being 2x faster with more bloodflow through him per minute.... his breathing seems faster than average as well. There are reasons he acts the way he does on camera, it's literally because he's inhuman and outside of the water he is out of his element. He's a machine, everything about him is different from most people and even other athletes... I don't see why people have to hate, just to hate.
Without him, we'd have a lot less gold medals, it's too bad that one person has to do all the work for us up to this point, but as an athlete, the dude is amazing. I'll admit he seems strange on camera, but there are definitely reasons for it... Just look at his Diet, look at how he breathes and how it seems like he has turrets due to how his body functions.
This race tonight is gonna be nuts, Crocker has a better PR by .4 sec and phelps has gotta be feeling the strain from racing so many events. That being said, he looked really good in qualifying heats, so maybe he can bust a huge race with whatever he's got left and beat Crocker.
I'm slightly annoyed all Phelps' races take precedence over any Canadian coverage on CBC.... It's friggin' CBC. I want to see Canadians, even if they suck.
Actually the same can be said for gymnastics.
Does CBC have different channels playing different games like NBC, CNBC, MSNBC?
Honestly, this year's olympics feel like they could be titled 2008 Summer Olympics: A Michael Phelps Story.
That said, I couldn't care less, he's not a Hamm twin and therefore is not worth paying attention to.
Eh, I'm sure a lot of people who can't stand Phelps will be happy tonight when he loses. I think he may lose to Crocker in the 100m Butterfly.
I don't understand why people hate him really, but I gave up on understanding a blind hate for someone that's good at something. I guess it's the cool thing for hating a swimmer because he may not be the brightest bulb, or because he's hyped up a lot.
Calgary's French channel is also a CBC affiliate (channel 9). They're showing some of their own events too. Albeit, it being in French, and me not speaking a lick of it has resulted in me not really focusing on what they're covering in comparison to CBCOriginally Posted by Colm
does anyone have the phelps dragonball thing its gone![]()
Ah ok, that sucks in regards to Canadian broadcast. Here in America NBC plays the primetime stuff that most people want to watch, and play most of the USA's other events on their other channels. In your case I can understand the discontent over Phelp's strangle hold on coverage.
In regards to American's with sandy vag's, CNBC and MSNBC will play some of the events you lewzers wanna watch.
my suite mates in my dorm have all been watching it together, its pretty fun to cheer phelps on via tv. lol
Yeah. The fact that Phelps beat Crocker, and then gave up his spot on the Relay team that was a free gold medal for Crocker is the ultimate form of sportsmanship. I haven't had issues with Phelps though in this entire thread, and I'm still confused why people don't like him, but yanno? People tend to get tired of the people/teams that are great in their respective sports, lol.
Like the fucking Red Sox
Yeah. They were fan favorites in '04 after that comeback on the Yankees, and now look at em. Everyone seems to hate them almost as much as the Yankees.
Yeah im unsure why people are hating on phelps, he does have almost half of our gold medals from the olympics, its going to change in a few days, but he really put us on the map in the early going along with nastia and sean.
