I'm just waiting for the conspiracy theorists to start posting about how these races are obviously rigged in Phelps' favour (putting the u in there because it'll probably be some crazy aussies). The Chinese and the Americans must have some kind of deal worked out, and so far everything is going .

Seriously though that last race was simply amazing though, I still can't believe he pulled it off.

Well, is it only the Americans that have this swimwear? I know it was designed by NASA, but I can't really tell by looking who is wearing it and who isn't.

Considering how Phelps beat another American, who probably would have been wearing the swimsuit, and was rested, and how its been stated that Phelps only wears the supersuit for some of his events, the "OMG, he's got a power suit!" claims are BS.

The design and location of the pool does much more for all of the Olympian's times than the suits are.

No, other countries use them as well. It's all the same material, because they were talking about the Swede last night that Dara Torres helped out when she tore her suit.

Those kinds of claims were half valid for some of the later years Lance Armstrong was winning the Tour De France, but variations in swimsuit technology would not be creating the disparity we see hear between Phelp's times and the other competitors.

The swimsuits are helping the athletes break world records, but since almost all of them seem to be wearing the new suit, it isn't a factor in their relative competitiveness with each other.
