Crafting Question

I've recently made the decision to make the insanely long journey to take fishing to 100, and I was told that not only could I take fishing to lvl 100 AND join the fishing guild, but I could also take another craft up to 100 as well, but only as far as 100 Journeyman rank. Along with that, I was told that I wouldnt necessarily have to take the second misc. craft to 100, but rather I could be a total of 40 levels over the cap of 60 throughout all subcrafts. So my question is this:

Would I be able to, not only be a lvl 100 Fishing veteran and a full member of the fishing guild, but also a lvl 75 Woodworking journeyman (To repair broken Lu shangs), and a lvl 85 cooking journeyman (To cook my own sushis), as well as whatever other lvl 60 and under crafts I might choose to lvl? Thanks in advance.

Short answer. No.

Whatever craft you decide to do, take it all the way. 75 in WW to fix your own fishing poles isnt worth gimping your cooking.

So you are saying that it IS possible to do that?

I think it is possible to split your 40 points after lv 60 any way you want to, yes. 70/70/70/70; 90/70; 85/75; w/e.

Use a mule to fix poles. Also, alchemy's poles are better than woodworking's.

Crafting maximums
Currently the maximum attainable craft level is 100. This was last changed in December 2003. Certain items have a craft cap over 100.

On a single character, it is impossible to fully specialize in multiple crafts. Each character has a pool of 40 points he can allocate to his crafts above 60. So for example, one could be 100 in a craft and 60 in the rest. Or, 80/80 and 60 in the rest. Or 75 in 2 crafts, 70 in a third, and so-on.

If a character gains a skillup which would put him above 40 allocated points, points will be deducted from the other highest craftskill above 60. Since skillups past 60 are never more than 0.1, this will always happen in increments of 0.1.

And yes fishing can also be 100.
