    Dynamis-Bastok Issue...

This has never been a problem in the past, but now 2 straight weeks we've done Basty, and while pulling Ore Street, somehow the entire top floor is linking with the pulls we're making on the bottom, and obviously fucking our program up. We've never seen this before last week, haven't changed anything about the way we pull, but it's happened to us 2 weeks in a row now and I have no clue wtf is going on or which pull is linking.

    Anyone else have this problem?

FTR it's #46 where everything went to shit, I had cleared out 95-97, 45 pull was fine, then 46 links the whole top.

#46 shouldn't be a problem tbh. Unless you measn #49.

Either way on all Ore Ally pulls, we have our puller, go a little slower.

So that non of the mobs decided to take shortcuts.

Pull, walk back a bit, then continue to the alliance. It shouldn't be linking at all with other stats (especially the top) unless it decided to take a different path to normal. This only happens when the puller is a bit quick of the mark, and the mobs decided take a different path to follow the puller. Unless this is something you've already thought about idk. If it's a glitch and you know your pulling it perfectly then only thing is to report it and try and ignore #46. Either that or have #46 link with #49 when you make that pull.

If you mean #49 then it's linking with the stat that walks up and down the stairs towards the north.

Our puller always waits till it's turned north again to /ra the left mob and pull. Going slowly East and waiting at the wall till it shows no sign of being able to take a "shortcut" up the stairs linking with the others.

    I hope this helps.

It was definitely 46, I still have no clue what it linked with but yeah, I may have just bailed too early and caused it to path funky. 47-48 remained unpulled, but 98 and a few other upstairs ones came with, I'm thinking it maybe somehow linked 98, and I will likely just try pulling 98 next time.

46 has always linked an upper pull for me, I think it's 98, not sure why since I had heard a long time ago that the bottom was all pullable without linking. Doesn't matter to me though, clearing out all of bastok with 20 and all. <_<

The only link on the bottom we ever get is if we have a rush-pull, or newer puller havign a go and they mis-time the stat walking up and down the stairs.

Only other time we ever link it, is when we want to.

I really don't know what's been going wrong on you guy's pulls.

Well personally, I probably run back too fast. I honestly don't mind if I link up to 10-12 mobs in that area, it actually helps. Keeping 10 quadavs asleep in Bastok is quite easy, and the pulls start getting long when you camp outside of Ore Street, so smaller pulls kinda hurt. I never really took care to not link it.

It probably is manageable as is, but I wasn't expecting it(I was pulling on RDM/BLM, tbh I don't even know why I was pulling instead of the THF, I started to and just forgot to stop) and didn't realize it linked until I had 12 turtles up my ass.

I'm going to try just pulling 98 first next time and see if that helps, but like I said the fucked up part is that in years of pulling I've never had that pull link, and now it's happened twice in a row without me changing how I pull it.

I've not had it happen to me personaly, but in my first dyna ls i remember it happend once. The issue is as you said, running back too quick, the stats hug the left wall which will glitch to the upper mob aggroing it.

There is a nice way to avoid it and speed up the pulling anyway tho. Clear the top section around #98 down to #105, you can pull the mobs from uptop and control the pulls easier with out the stats being a issue if your down in the cramped area speed pulling. (Most bastok theres usualy 2-3 stats lingering on me in this area). It also saves against any links you might get later if you mistime.

You can actualy test it too if you wish, aggro #98, die.
When walking under the bridge, if you run through the middle, you won't aggro. If you run to the left or right, bai bai bad guy.

If you are not pressed for time (which you shouldn't be if your group is experienced and competent), then I find it better off to just clear all the top level mobs of Ore Street before messing with the bottom anyway.

I think maybe once or twice I've gotten a funky link from the downstairs pulls, but I like clearing upstairs first because then you can pull all the downstairs mobs from up top and scoot back to camp a little quicker if everyone is parked at the top of the ramp.

I prefer killing all the mobs in the zone prior to the Mega Boss so we don't have to backtrack at all on our way to a full clear after the boss goes down, so why not clean up all of Ore Street while you're down there?

Yeah we do this too. Considering it only takes a competent group of 18-20 to full clear Bastok before you time out, it shouldn't be too hard for most.

Yeah competency is an issue sometimes, people seem to bottle up all their retardation and not let it out until Dynamis time. Our last 2 Bastok runs also featured wipes caused entirely by people not standing where they were told to stand multiple times, and sleeping shit they shouldn't have slept despite us saying roughly 137 times a run that if your name doesn't start with C and end with allisto you are not to sleep a goddamn thing without being told.

Then they would be allowed to sleep things, obviously.

Going to make a mule and name it that when I get home just to be safe from that possibility.

Single sleeper in Bastok seems silly to me. With 3-5 BLMs at the run, and mobs dying in 5 to 15 seconds, even a pull with 6-7 mobs is dead before they wake up. And later on, there might be 3 left by the time they wake up. Bastok's just too easy. :/

But I do agree about the competency thing, they let their retardation out during Dynamis.
