Feel free to spoiler a response, but is the quest to The Spire part of some end-game mission? Theresa makes it sound like it but I find it hard to believe that end end confrontation is happening already in the story.

Thanks for the reply Zhais. I ended up embarking on it anyway and getting through.

Interesting mission, if not a bit tedious. I wish I got extra evil points for laughing and making rude gestures at the starving inmates though, haha. What really pissed me off was that, after being away for 10 years, I only got one day's worth of rent/income from my properties. /fume

Thanks asking this (and the response). I was going to be very disappointed if the main story was that short.

    BTW, Crucible = amazing.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun; talk about a wicked XP grind. It seems that when you come back from the Spire, the Crucible is open to you again to run as you see fit. Pretty awesome if you ask me, and a great place to keep grinding xp.

do NOT read if you haven't beaten the game

    Spoiler: show

HOLY WHAT THE FUCK at the incredibly weak and retarded ending. No major big fight, just "uh oh, you're dead. Go run around for a day, one shot Lucien, make a wish, then game-over"

....... please tell me I'm missing some major ending somehow that is a million times better

Awesome. I don't think there is nearly enough fighting at times, so I'm glad I can go back and do that soon...well once I stop getting sidetracked again! lol

I agree. I just finished it, and the ending was really crappy. However, with what Theresa says at the end, makes me think there will be more story added, with DLC hopefully. Either that, or it's just going to be left open for Fable 3!

Which choice did you pick? I chose The Family, just because I love the dog! Who cares about some random people!

Also, got 1000G on this. Wasn't too hard, just keys/gargoyles were kinda annoying.

I definitely went into this game wanting medieval Mass Effect. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. It has a lot of interesting points, but falls short overall.

    @Zhais
    Completely agree w/ you btw.

Well Im quite suprised you were looking for that really because well diffrent rpg developers look at decision making on a diffrent scale, lionhead, bioware, bethesda to name a few, all treat it diffrently, the game was meant to build upon the first not to be like any other rpg games. Im still really happy with the game, ive spent about 70 hrs on one and about 30 on another(evil) and havent come closeto finishing the story with all the extra missions and jobs etc. It's more than exceeded my expectations, there are a few things I would chane but overall I love it.

I wish it had more weapons, could tattoo more of your body and clothes to choose from thats what I would change, but that can be added in DLC.

    Completely agree.

Also, and I have no idea if I'm the only one that tried this, but I was rather disappointed that you couldn't give someone clothing as a gift and have them change into it. In my situation, I ended up getting married through one of the sidequests, and when I had quite a bit of bankroll, I decided to move into a far nicer house and then thought "hey, I can get my wife some new clothes".

Guess she didn't like them! lol

Yeah that sound slike a good idea, I mean there is a little bit more they could of done with some things, but im sure they'll implement more things in the next title. Rather they wanted to admit it or not I think they were a little constrained on space and fitting it on one disc.

    I haven't found a single gargoyle yet >.>

Sacrifice for the first time, friend did family half hour later. Half to make another char for 3rd one.

But yea, I was hoping there would be some major fight with Theresa or something

Discussion of end-game and other world-changing events below, be forwarned.

    Spoiler: show
Yep, I was pretty stunned at this too. I was all getting ready for a final balls-out confrontation with a SSJ Lucien and then I sat there, mouth agape, as Dorian Gray (Reaver, lol) cheap-shots the bastard. There's no sense of revenge, no cathartic destruction of your evil foe. It really kind of pissed me off to think that the closest thing to a big ending boss was that fucking floating shard in Bloodstone.

I chose to play as a virtious character for my first run, and with choosing the Sacrifice option, I don't know how much of the extra quests I will bother doing. The game is just so lonley without the dog at my side. Even though I really felt very little emotional connection to the main quest, I am genuinely surprised at how attached I became to my dog and how little interest I have in playing this character anymore without my accomplice.

Some other changes during the game that really surprised me included the destruction of the Temple of light after I returned from the Spire. Since I had not done any quests for the Temple, nor donated any money, it just faded away and I found it a ruin with Theresa giving me the voice over that "despite all your noble deeds, your negligance to help the Temple has lead to its descruction, never to be seen again in Albion" (or something to that effect). Because of this Oakvale is now all brown and washed out, the crops are dying, and the oak tree that was planted at the end of the Hero of Might quest has rotted and fallen down. This really hit home to me, as it seemed to change the look of Albion. Both Oakvale and Bowerstone are constantly in a "fall" mode now for vegitation, there is no longer the beautiful verdant green it once was.

I will also say that the "Perfect Day" sequence was quite touching. I also really applaud the level design team for creating a level that makes a hyper-stylized video game seem even less real in a dream-like quality.

On the gargoyles you need enough skill to aim your gun before you can shoot them.

Maxed out skill/strength. That's not the problem. I have no clue what to look for, and have yet to find a single one >.>

I think I came to a realization earlier that I was indeed retarded tho. I was sitting at Wendy's, lamenting over

    Spoiler: show
    the crappy ending

with my coworker. I mentioned on how there was always some voice mocking me wether I was in a dungeon or outside, and I couldn't figure out who/what/when.

Those are the gargoyles aren't they...

Temple of Light flourished for me since I did all the quests to help it out. All my towns seemed to do pretty well.

Better scene than the Perfect Day sequence was one of the demon doors:

    Spoiler: show

One of the demon doors was awesome tho. Bloodstone's. You start off in a nice, serene wintery setting with a cozy looking cabin at the end of a path. Moment you enter the cabin, BAM it turns into a creepy decrepid house with skeletons. Its a shocker

Yes those are the gargoyles, they are grayish silver with sparkly eyes and they make fun of you with a thick scottish accent. Their hard to miss once you see one and some of them are quite obvious, ill tell you where one is so you have an idea, oakville bridge in the middle of it on the outside faceing the water if that helps, if it doesnt ill tell you another one, inside the furniture store on the top floor in the back room right above the doorway.

Yeah, the Bloodstone demon door was a good trick. Having played Fable I knew that something was going to get all creepy or crazy inside that idyllic scene. My girlfriend was was watching me play when I went through that door and she kind of freaked out.

    Spoiler: show
So I did go back to my character with the finished main story to try out some of the new quests that popped up. I revived Lady Gray and then stole her from the creepy gravekeeper. I just need to find a 5-star ring to marry her and start having some undead/zombie kids!

I'm only a few hours into the game and really enjoying it so far. I've hung out at Bowerstone(sp) town to max our blacksmithing and stuff to earn some money... but when are you allowed to work at the bar?

Only grip about the game is not having a minimap. I'm sure once I get used to the layout it won't be much of an issue, but a minimap that had shop/employment/ect icon's would just make the game so much better... can't figure out why they would intentially leave that out
