I need to get rid of mine already, they're a fucking nightmare. One sort of scratches the side of my mouth sometimes, and i believe the other is somehow involved in why the tooth right below it hurts.

I ended up waiting too long to get my wisdom teeth removed. The top wisdom teeth started to rot out and it hurt like a bitch whenever I tried to eat or drink anything. I finally scheduled getting them pulled after eating something and spending the next 2 hours unable to do anything because of the pain.
I never had problems with my teeth rotting/cavities, so I didn't think much about my wisdom teeth until they hurt.
I got some shot in my arm and gassed. 15 minutes later I was asleep. Woke up feeling fine other than a dull ache. They wouldn't let me walk out of the office and made me sit in a wheelchair though. :/ I didn't get dry sockets, but I've heard they suck really bad.
I have no wisdom teeth either D: i dunno if theyre actually there under my gums but they've never come through.
But i have had quite a bit of dentist stuff done this year. Had some root canals and fillings redone after i got this infection in some of the roots of my front teeth after one of them cracked after my son head butted me in the mouth lol. that shit was painful (the infection) i dont think i ate anything solid for like a week and could hardly manage liquids until i got a nice helpin of codine
Saying that though all the actual dentist procedures have been fine, they didnt hurt just achey afterwards, but i stil haaate local aneastheticjust dont like being awake while people are drilling holes in me etc lol
Pain should gradually lessen as each day goes by. If it stays the same for that long or gets worse, you might be experiencing "dry sockets", where it doesn't heal over properly.
Makes your whole mouth hurt like hell, right across all your teeth and your jaw, and you gotta go back to the dentist to get those fuckers scraped out.
Getting my wisdom teeth out was awesome. :O I got them out before they had fully grown in, so they weren't hurting too much after. I could also eat solid food the next day. :3 The doctor gave me a nifty little syringe to rinse out the sockets with water a few times a day. Get one of those so you're not living on soup and fluids for longer than a day.
I had both top wisdom teeth removed. Local anesthetic only, took about 6-7 shots to even knock a dent in the pain. Come to find out, I have both curved and elongated roots. And the dentist pulled a chunk of bone with the tooth.
Was fucking nasty.
The worst part for me was that both sides of my lower jaw slowly bled for around 10 days. I had all four done at once and can't remember the pain being all that bad.
The seventh day was the worst day! When I finally gave up and went to see somebody about it. I did everything i was supposed to, but I had still ended up with dry sockets. The pain -immediately- went down after revisiting the dentist though, and was almost gone entirely the next day.
For me I think the first day was not that bad, probably b/c I was still riding out the numbing stuff. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, when they were still inside my gums, so they knocked me out completely.
I might estimate that the second day ought to be the worst, with it getting better from there, for a normal recovery.
I need to get my two bottom ones out but I'm a pussy about it. Getting ready to man the fuck up soon because they hurt like fuck![]()
Wisdom teeth surgery was fucking great for me, they gave me something called halcyon to take before I went to the office and my gramma had to drive me. So I took the drug, lied down for 20 minutes or so, and when she reminded me it was time to leave I just went straight to the car, but forgot to get completely dressed, the drug was kicking in.
I remember nothing about the surgery except getting some sort of local anesthetic and music, then I think I remember them pulling teeth out but I couldn't give half a shit what was going on.
Afterwards my mom picked me up and took me to an ice cream shop (my mom had to work in the morning but took the afternoon off to pick me up and take care of me), at this point I remember nothing but she said I told her stories of me getting drunk during parties and going swimming naked, which I really hope is all I told her, also when my milkshake was brought to me I removed the straw and just mashed my face into the cup and moved my mouth. She said people were staring, oh well.
tldr: - ask for halcyon, but make sure a non-relative picks you up.
I had a milkshake, but Daniel Plainview drank it.![]()
due to laziness/lack of dental insurance I wound up waiting till two were fully out before having them removed. Pain was horrid, but the advantage was 3 shots of novacaine, and what looked like a huge pair of pliers and they were out. Just opened up, clamped, twist, pull and walk on out Was even able to drive myself and eat solid food the same day.
i had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out back in 2004. was pretty fun sleeping on my back with a bunch of gauze in my mouth to soak up the blood and slushing salt water for a week. and not eating chips for a month.
I had my upper right wisdom taken out. Cheapass healthcare only got me a local and a swift kick in the ass when I asked for pain meds.
I got a wisdom tooth extracted in Cancun, Mexico for $50. It got infected during a vacation... I was actually surprised at how great the dentist was, I just figured all doctors/dentists worth a damn come to the states.
A few months later, the other bottom wisdom tooth had to come out. It wasn't a horrible experience (no dental phobias here), but the dry socket can be absolute hell!
Ugggh... my parents forced me to go get mine pulled waaay back in 9th grade or so. I got a shot in my gums to numb it all out but they used some kind of a tool to crunch/pull them out and it sounded so terrible.
Then my dentist shows me the teeth on the little operating table and goes, "do you want to put them under your pillow?" I wanted to stab him. My lip felt swollen and fat for a day or two and gaaaaauuuuze!!!!!!!!
Plus side was my dad bought me one of those thermos things and I drank awesome campbells soup for a week which was nice!
Why are so many people scared of this shit?
I had mined pulled, just went in, and they yanked them the fuck out and I drove home(I can't use anesthetics).
I didn't even get a painkiller and it doesn't hurt anywhere near what people seem to believe.
I had all of mine taken out but I actually had to be put under anesthesia so I dont remember a thing haha.
Wasnt terrible
What a coincidence. Mine were taken out yesterday too. I was knocked out for it too because my two bottom wisdoms were surgically removed. I actually had 2 extras on my top row, so I had to have 6 wisdom teeth removed.
Anyway, I did get the lip and chin numbness for a few hours after getting home. By end of the first night, I no longer needed the vicodin and I've graduated up from yogurt and mashed potatoes to soft foods like scrambled eggs and fish.
