Multiple Audio sources to same subwoofer?

Is there anything I should be warned about before I use my 3.5mm-stereo adapter (two stereo jacks to one plug) so I can connect both my PC and PS3 to the same subwoofer without having to muck with it everytime?

I'm mainly wondering if there's some possible conflict with doing this that may wreck my sound system if they both send audio at the same time or something other.

Backstory: Purchased a new PC monitor, and figured I'd hook my PS3 up to it as well. I said screw-it to the RCA cables (fuck 480i on the TV, seriously) in favour of an HDMI cable for full 1080p glory (while my PC/laptop hog the VGA & DVI connectors), and said monitor just so happens to have an audio-out on the back for a 3.5mm cable for tunneling the audio signal off from the HDMI cable.
(it's limited to 2.1 only that route, but better than nothing until I get a new audio system that takes an optical cable)

You dont actually plan to have both audios on at the same time right? Its just a what if?

Either way, the sound will just sound crappy if theyre both on at the same time obviosuly. If the sound in is coming from a 3.5 connector, you should have no worries. Now if their were actual wires involved, that would be different.

The only down side of those multi to single and single to multipule connections, is they usually have a slight affect on the quality of the sound, but it's usually not much.

I won't be having full-blast audio coming from both, but I'd like to be able to hear misc things like sound notifications (Apps, MSN, etc) while playing a game on the PS3 (which may more-or-less end up as a BluRay player at this rate until the next big thing, those things look *gorgeous* on this screen).

I don't mind any drop in sound quality as odds are I wouldn't be able to hear the difference anyways. Glad to hear there shouldn't be any actual problems, was worried of something occuring along the lines of hearing static or the signal overloading when two devices send out audio.

And on a more random note.......I picked up the wrong adapter. This bastard is mono only! Back to the store tomorrow....
