AF Re-Completion

So after I upgraded my Evoker's Boots to +1, I reset my memory, so I could get the NQ boots again so I could store the armor and free up my inventory. However, I'm not sure if I have to go through all the quests before I can get the boots or if I can just pop the coffer. Can anyone tell me?

You'll have to redo the coffer quest and any other prequest, including weapon. Then you can stop there.

You should only need to do the af weapon quest, then flag the first armor + coffer hands quest, and be able to get the boots (wherever they are assuming it's not the first af quest).

Okay, do I have to drop the AF weapon? Or can I keep it, do the quest, and just not get the reward?

Probably drop weapon if the quest completion is them giving you the weapon in a CS - ie, quest completion.

You need to drop the weapon to finish the quest, otherwise the NPC will keep trying to give you a new one and failing because it's Rare.

And you don't need to flag hands quest again to get coffer AF.

Really? What do you need to do to get coffer pieces then? Just the weapon? Or weapon and first quest after it?

My first AF job was BRD; I believe I started the hands quest before getting its coffer AF. With all my AF after that I've gotten coffer AF after getting weapon and starting AF2 quest, but before starting the hands quest.

Someone on otherwiki reported that this didn't work for their first job's AF, so I guess you need to have started (and perhaps finished) one hands quest in order to unlock coffer AF for all jobs.

I don't know that it's necessary to start the AF2 quest to get coffer AF, but that's what I've always done so far.
