Hachiryu Zanshin test

Zanshin+1% is quite possibly the most superfluous stat in the game. I'm impressed SE.

the one handed proofs are sufficient. (0.99^778 = 4.01e-4)

the two handed proofs while not -complete- are sufficient to show it does have an effect and that the effect is fairly small. (certainly not 5%, maybe 2% if not 1%) but additional sample size tests can wait til more people have the gear.

for now it's enough to know it's not a big number.

while probably insufficient to fix a number to them, it is sufficient to identify a band of probable values. since that band is wholly contained within the realm of "useless crappy shit SE shovels on us like mantra belt" it is more than sufficient to label them as junk and move on. good test. be curious if "enhances zanshin" effects are all 1% like this or if one of the pieces actually offers a significant boost (maybe 5% might be palatable if the other stats offer some value. even a 2% wouldn't be awful if it were on the pants since they already have a use for WS as i'm told.)

think of it like conserve MP: never something you'd actually use a piece for by itself, but a nice little bonus on gear you'd use otherwise.

enhances effects vary from gear to gear for other stats too, so I suspect they will for zanshin as well. - which pieces give what bonuses is still going to require testing.

Unless its only single hand/dual wield and not h2h (h2h is technically its own category), I'd have to say this is false. I've zanshin'd on mnk/sam before and I have on mnk/blu with bushido cape in 60 cap ballista.

look at the tests. I would be interested in seeing similar tests done for monk but for 1h single and dual wield it's very clear that it doesn't work

i've gotten zanshin to proc when skilling up sword on drg without brutal earring and on thf during saving private ryaaf again without any DA gear

Sorry for the necro bump but when Hachiryu was being compared for mnk builds, this thread was linked so I went out and did some testing. Not sure about 1hand/dual wield, but I'm 100% certain that zanshin procs on h2h.
I'm uploading a video now, it should be up within an hour and I'll edit the link in.

I'm on Sam/blm in the video (So only swings once per round regularly) with no double attack gear on (Equip screen is open during testing)

Maybe you should try it MNK/SAM with 2 attacks each round and maybe a weapon equipped just to be sure. Counters might make a video a bit messy but I bet you can differ them ^^

I can try it, the only problem will be finding mobs that I will actually miss as 75 mnk that wouldn't kick my ass as /sam w/o buying blind potions, lol.
