So. Fun fact. SE won't let you cancel your order online. Thinking this was all cool I went ahead and ordered it, but quickly realized I really didn't want it, so my emails read like this:
[Mind you, it's backwards since it's a reply chain.]
Now, I had called Mastercard and they were like, "Oh. Don't worry about it! :D Just certify it back to them, then mail a copy of the certification and your dispute statement, and we'll take care of everything."I'm going to wait and dispute the charge at the billing cycle, then certify the unopened item back to you at the return address. Further dealings will be with Mastercard in the future.
Additionally, your online store needs to have an order-cancel function put it to avoid situations like this in the future.

What if I put a hold on my credit card? You will receive no payment. Will
that cancel the order?

And suddenly they cooperate? Because I was going to get my fucking money back regardless whether they liked it or not under contract by dealing with Mastercard at all?Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX Merchandise Support,

Anyway, no emails back from SE (it'll be tomorrow sometime), but I fucking love Mastercard now. Seriously. All I had to tell them was that they're charging and shipping an item I don't want and already tried to cancel, and they're completely on my side. I don't care if all the other major card companies do that too, to have a company really pull through for you like that is <3.
Jesus fuck I dealt with the same bitch! We went back and forth through about 8 emails before I was like you're a fucking robot with all these cut/copy replies and I am calling my credit card to stop payment.
They wouldn't even provide me with a confirmation number for my order. I mean wtf? How do they associate sales to their respective customers? No wonder they cant cancel. They don't have a way to identify your order and cancel it.
Anyway, I just wanted to say I had this bitch too and I want her to die.
Edit:
She did respond saying she wasn't a robot in one of the emails, lawl.
Those are all her typos and weird sentences. I just copy pasted.
Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX Customer Support,
No, I am not a robot. If you wish to contact your bank about the charge, you do that right as a card holder.
I hope this email clears it up a little morel. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Have a nice day!
Thanks,

Oh, I only got an order number after that initial reply. The subject line came back "RE: SUSPECT: RE: Cancelation of order #(numbers)" Whereas my initial subject header was, "Subject: Cancelation of order"
So suspect or not, GOOD JOB giving me the order number if this is a suspicious e-mail. Idiots.
Also, GOOD JOB not giving me one to begin with.
In the end it's really fucking sad. It'll just make me NOT want to order anymore of this shit from their store... and god damn I am giddy that I'll get my money back regardless. For once I can say, "Fuck you," to square and it mean something.
Not sure if this was mentioned, but SE updated the link and included an image of the actual in-game stats. I'm disappointed at the delay, but it's not as horrible as it could have been.

In case it doesn't show:
Unlimited Charges
30s Wait
40hr Reuse
Edit: Nevermind, I guess I missed it the first time I saw it or something. /facepalm
Yeah man, fight the power. You showed them!
This item just because dead to me! If it was a 10 min recharge that woulda been super. 40 hours!? Are you kidding me? Thank god I snapped outa the "wow this is neat I need one" phase. +50bucks in wallet.
Personally I can't imagine why anyone expected anything shorter than a 24 hour recharge.
well, if you're gonna pay 50 bucks for a necklace (read: ingame item) it better pwn!
because it costs 50 bucks?
So now it goes from "Man they expect us to pay 50 bucks for an item that's incredibly useful and awesome what the hell is the matter with them, how dare they!?" to "God this item sucks it should be better."
It's like people said, the item is a bonus, you're paying for the cheap metal.
TBH the item isn't really that useful. I tele faster than the time it'd save me.
All I see is "Teleport-Nashmau so you can afk sooner while the rest of your slacker linkshell gathers for Einherjar and still enter 30~60minutes late"
So it's not just us? Good to know.
EDIT: I was too busy being glib to make the point that I wanted to make...
I find it interesting that Square had the wherewithal to add in the in-game text description after all of the questions about the number of charges and recharge timer, yet not a single word about Pandemonium Warden. Very interesting priorities...
Also, for Lord Wafik, the Vana'diel Wind video of Destiny showed the necklace pulse about every two seconds, so it was no post-production.
I'm glad SE thinks they can replace update posts with sales pitch posts, saves me the effort of waiting until patch day to realize this update will suck.
For the June update, there were 11 news items in 44 days. For this update, there have been 5 in 30. One update every 4 days as opposed to one every 6. And those 5 were hardly a surprise, they've been discussing them for a while.
Farting out item info to boost potential sales is one thing, coming up with a dodge to faulty design choices in another.

gogo 40 hour recast.
LOL wow, AND this takes up the update for the week yay!
If I was on the fence before, I am definately not buying it now. $50 for essentially an event item? No thanks. I'd rather trade fruit to NPCs for hours (days?) for my situational warp item.
Seriously though, why 40 hours? Why not 24? Why not 20? It's not even worth an inventory space now... People are going to have to start vomiting while waiting for the recast time, and then SE will shorten it. An item that takes 40 hours to use? Alert the media!
