it's a direct response to what i quoted, taking things completely out of context is a good way to not understand it.

I envy people who can spend 50 bucks on this necklace. It seems lavish as it's not a particularly well-crafted piece of jewelry, and the in-game item's effect isn't really worth it imo. Personally I would support SE (and have before) by using that type of money to go towards buying some of the goodies they have at http://www.square-enix-shop.com/ of which some are really good quality. As for this... I can understand how people would want the in-game item... I'll pass though...

I would buy it if it wasn't ugly as sin.

    I'll take the boat.

Well the in game item looks cool and all that, but I don't even have the RL money to reactivate my other account at the moment, let alone shell out fifty bucks for a neckace I will never wear.

Maybe if people didn't eat this shit up & fork more money over to SE, they might actually make such in game items available through normal, in game means.

Are you for real? You quoted me, than argued with things I didn't actually say. That's a strawman argument, who do you think you're fooling? No wonder you have such a bad reputation around here. If you don't agree, try arguing with what I actually posted.

It's nothing new for a company to offer merchandise w/has online in-game appeal... I don't see why so many are getting worked up over it. Or would you prefer to spend 100's of dollars on the WoW trading card in hopes of getting that rare spectral tiger? You think 90% of those people who bought WoW trading cards did it for the card game aspect? At least this way FF is making it a 100% sure thing instead of a crap-shot all dependent on luck. Oh yeah... the item also serves a purpose ingame and isn't there just for a pure asthetic appeal.
I'm not buying it, just don't understand all the petty arguments over this when it's not even close to the first time a company has done something like this

I took it in context, I just didn't feel like nesting quotes.

    You still make no sense.

His argument: "Be grateful, they could have decided to just sell $45 necklaces with *no* accompanying game reward".

Your argument: Well, I'm still not sure what exactly your argument was. I think you meant to say something like "If there was no in-game reward, people just wouldn't buy it."

Being an asshole (This! is! BG!, etc) doesn't make your point any more valid than it was ten posts ago.

looks like you finally figured it out, want a cookie?

i wasn't trying to "make a point" so that people get it, time for that has long past.

better yet, you know. it'd be more beneficial for everyone if we could just directly deposit money in an SE fund for more competent GMs and telephone representatives. Instead of like having to talk to a guy named, "Joe" for every correspondence.

I'd rather you take five seconds to proof your own fucking posts as opposed to calling someone stupid right off the bat.

This isn't a grammar nazi thing. This is you disagreeing with someone while undermining your own argument by failing to present it in an intelligible manner. But whatever. I'll go help some other retard next time.

    anti-grammar nazi to the rescue.

    Proof as a verb...

    –verb (used with object)
    24. to test; examine for flaws, errors, etc.; check against a standard or standards.
    25. Printing. prove (def. 7).
    26. to proofread.
    27. to treat or coat for the purpose of rendering resistant to deterioration, damage, etc. (often used in combination): to proof a house against termites; to shrink-proof a shirt.

    but yes, dictionary derail. sorry...

back on topic, did I mention that talisman looks to have absolutely no resemblance to Leviathan whatsoever, am I missing something?

now why did you go and not quote my second sentence which was the actual important part of my last post? my point was to call him stupid and nothing else, when i want to make an actual point, i do plenty of proof reading.

i'm not undermining my own argument because i wasn't really making an argument. people have already made up their minds on which side of the fence they fall regarding this topic. no articulation on my part is going to convince anyone to see the perspective from my side.

this is like a grammar nazi telling me i'm forgetting to capitalize words in my posts when i do that all the time on purpose.

Wow, I can smell the fail from a mile away here.

First off, S-E's going to experiment with stuff like this. Everquest did it. So has just about every long-lived MMORPG in the world of any real size to merchandize. WoW certainly has.

Ergo, I'm not bitching. If you want it, you can get it now for 45 dollars + shipping. Or, you can buy the new collection and get it that way minus the prop.

If they sold a decent-looking Ridill sword (through, say Medieval Replicas or something) with the ingame version as a code? Fuck yes, I'd buy it. I like swords. I won't end up buying this, because the item itself is marginally useful and I don't like the physical prop much. But they don't have to sell that many to make the money back +, and hopefully it'll lead to something I'd want to buy because I like it.

THAT GUY IS A FUCKING TOOL. I told him about my DC problem with salvage guy was like its your routers connection. I'm like I'm plugged right into the wall. Then your ISP is not allowing the ports and I said i'm using dial up (really not but that way he couldn't say that it was my ISP). I asked him if he ever played the game before then he said no. Then I explained to him that it lets me connect to the zones just once I connect to them I get sent to the zone except everythings deactived and i can't see no one except me however others could see me. I said if it was a connection issue then they wouldn't be able to see me nor would the zone even load up. I even confirmed with GMs that this was a server issue. Asked for the guys supervisor put me on hold for 3 seconds and said my manager says its a connection issue and hangs up.

edit: I got a female person called Lee afterwards when I called again she was VERY helpful and made me feel like there is someone that works there that knows how to do his/her job.
