Holy shit I started replaying the original on my PSP since I last posted and damn I forgot how annoying some of these puzzles can be. I've only made it up to St. Francis' Folly so far (level 5). The controls suck too, but this is actually pretty fun.

Edit: 30 minutes in so far, no end in sight, these puzzles are killing me. Now I remember why I love this game

Is there a reason why they continue to make Croft cartoony and just... simplistic? Game looks like it has potential, I just don't get why the dev's don't redo Laura's model to be more life-like... isn't Croft supposed to be sex symbol anyways?

If they made her too realistic, we all know pussy-fearing US censors would be all over this game. She looked pretty decent in the last 2 releases anyways, anymore realism and I'd probably never finish the game due to frequent breaks

i'mma have to agree also, if you've never actually played the ones worth playing(legend, anniversary) then you're missing out on the best of the series. I didn't even like the playstation games, fucking grid walking is NOT fun. My only complaints about the last 2 was the length. If I hadn't borrowed them, I would probably be a little pissed at a weekend's worth of gameplay.

I really liked the first one or two. Can't remember really how many I played...I remember the one I liked the best was the one with the obstacle course behind her house. I always had fun timing myself against that.

The last 2 games both had Croft Manor, which was a really good puzzle solving diversion for 3-4 hours your first time through.

For the person who mentioned PSP, go dig up/rent a copy of Anniversary, it was very well made on the PSP. I would not reccommend the PSP version of Legend though, it has major control issues (not present in Anniversary though)

Yeah, I might check out anniversary since it's a remake of 1. But are there any major differences like level/puzzle wise and such?

Reworked puzzles, new gameplay mechanics, etc. The usual stuff you would expect for a remake 10 or so years later. Some grappling hook puzzles towards the end really suck, but on a whole it's a very well done game for the PSP.

Thanks to the OP. I totally forgot about how much I loved the first TR, and after that I never paid any attention to the series because I hated TR2. I'm going to pick up TR:Anniversary and TR:Legends on my lunch break.

I bought it today, was going to wait till christmas but meh haven't bought a game in a while, now I just need to get a chance to play it! Seemed to receive some good reviews with the worst one i've read being from gamespot due to camera problems or something? And a few slating combat system

I downloaded it and beat it in two days. I thought Legend was better because it had more storyline and cutscenes. It had fun puzzels though that weren't annoying, and the graphics were amazing.

I don't think she moves robotic at all. They hired some olympiad chick to shower in lasers and record her movements. She performed all of Lara's moves and they used her movements in-game.

The best part of Underworld though is the absence of those fucking cutscenes where you had to push specific keys or you died. All the cutscenes now are just cutscenes. Occassionally in-game time will slow down and you need to move Lara out of the way of something or you die, but its no special button sequence since you retain full control of her.
