    Maintaining LS activity

This is one thing I seem to struggle with, with the new shell ive made, Im doing pretty well on events but socially its pretty inactive, I want to improve to get at least 10-15 ppl online at a time so, i can have ppl i trust to run the ls while Im at work and what not

In the past I've found that doing bullshit fun events helps, level 20 Garrison + Eco-Warrior worked really for us, everyone had a blast and people can actually make a bit of gil from Garrison.

There's only so much you can do as a LS leader to encourage people to log on between events. If your LS mostly consists of "casual" players then unless they are leveling another job they will probably stay logged off and spend time with their families or whatever it is that they have that keeps them "casual" in FFXI. You don't say what type of LS you lead, are you aiming for more dedicated HNM camping shell or is just a sky farming shell? I suppose you could encourage small-man event statics like salvage/assault/nyzul groups that gets people online inbetween your scheduled main events. Or try set up XP statics, start one yourself if you need to. Get a job or two to 75 with 5 LS friends and that should help you make good friends that you can trust.

If there's any mid-level people in the shell or players who haven't yet finished storylines give incentives for everyone to log on and help them out with missions or basic things like AF quests and ZNMs. I don't know if you run a DKP-like system or what, but even in the end-game/HNM shell I'm in everyone can earn extra points by helping others outside events (within limits of reason of course). And the small man statics (nyzul/assault/salvage/XP groups) keep the evenings with no official events pretty packed on the shell. But yeah, it's kinda hard to try pinpoint advice with no knowledge of the playerbase in your shell.

I keep trying to make my LS do Brenner on an event night, simply because the morale boost of doing something off-the-wall is invaluable.

I see what you mean, well, right now like I said the event side of the ls is good, but I wanna build up the social part, so when players log on and say hello, at least a few people can welcome him. I do salvage, nyzul isle, and Einherjar, i wanna do ZNMs but finding a good rdm, blm, sleeper job is tough on this game since they are in such high demand for endgame shells

It may help you 2 ways to invite members to an XP static or something outside of events, and everyone can level a job that's different than what their normal main is. You gain both from playing with each other more and becoming a bit tighter, and you can diversify people's jobs a bit, it helps when multiple people have a mage/DD/tank leveled, lets you mix things up a bit during events and keeps people from getting annoyed that they always have to come as XXX job.

the easiest way to get people to use a shell for social stuff is to .. well. do social stuff.

level, using the pearl. do quests together, using the pearl. farm, using the pearl.

get four or five people to do this 24/7 (or at least, when you want the pearl to be active) and you'll start to see more members using it this way, assuming your members like to hang out together (you'll never get 100% participation in the social side of the shell.)

Be social. Talk, joke, etc. People need to get to know each other if you want them to have a good social atmosphere. To do that you need to talk.

This is definately a good idea. Garrison is a fun way to do something together and make a bit of cash. And, getting people together to farm the pop can also be kind of fun (ok not really).

I am a big advocate of recruiting as many people as possible. Hell, you throw enough darts at a dart board you will eventually hit a bullseye.

Yeah, but how do you recruit without looking like a giant dumbass shouting for LS members in Whitegate? Personal experience most shout shells fall apart rapidly, and you typically get the tools that float around from shell to shell because nobody else will take them.

ZNM and farming Zeni are good social events that have rewards but are pretty low impact.

We're just a small endgame event LS that a lot of people keep as their only LS, and a few have socials but spend time in this LS.

We do a rotating schedule of events, and this keeps everything a little less monotonous than doing the same thing week after week. One week we'll do KS99s and Sea, and the next week do Sky and Zeni, etc etc.

We do Limbus on the same schedule twice a week, but it's so short that I don't think it really counts, plus it's a fairly high time/reward event when you do multiple zones at once and can hit up Omega and Ultima on a regular schedule.

Zeni NMs is a great idea that ringthree mentioned, very easy to get Zeni and do a few NMs with a small group

This is very much like our LS. We are medium size (35 active members 45~ total).

We rotate events on "Event days" and have Limbus, Einherjar, Dynamis on set days.

Events can be Sky, Sea, Pop NMs, Jorm, Vrtra, KS99, Ouryu, Bv2, etc. We follow a pretty set schedule, which lets ppl have a real life and plan their days out in advance.

If your looking for a HNM shell tho that camps Ground, Tia, Cerberus, Khim, KV etc, then this probably wont work at all for you.
